PanzerWomble Posted April 2 Posted April 2 2026 , year of "do new Sh!t" Last time I built a helicopter was .....er ....1982 ..same year as my damn car 😂 Trumpeters 1/35 UH1B has mixed reviews , namely the quality of the rivets ...to which I say "Meh" , will it look like a Huey ? It's all in the paint folks . Oh and a build log too ... Poor Match looks underscale . turn on.... tune in....and drop out...Easter weekend Bank Holidays cometh. Cue some sweet Creedance 5
GusMac Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Love the original, but Clutch's cover of this sounds even better to my ears. Neil Fallon's vocals really add to the anger of the lyrics 3

BlrwestSiR Posted April 4 Posted April 4 You don't see many Hueys getting built. I did the Academy UH-1C a few years ago. Looks like this one goes together a bit better. 4
PanzerWomble Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 So to answer your question Carl , yes it needed a bit of clamping and CA , I think the front was slightly warped ... First some weight in case it decided to tailsit Mind da gap Is all closed up and played ball Cue some tunes .... Everyone gets everything he wants. I wanted a chopper, and for my sins, they gave me one. Brought it up to me like room service. It was a real choice helo, and when it was over, I never wanted another 5 1
belugawhaleman Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Nice work so far😀 I remember building the Revell kit long ago. Now, if you really want to go big.....Obnoxiously big......you can build the Hobby boss version in 1/18 scale. Now wouldn't that be fun😀 2
PanzerWomble Posted Thursday at 08:39 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:39 PM Done a bit more ... All the do dabs and whatchamathingies on Using Tamiya paints for a change , heavy chipping not gonna be a thing on this one Lawks it's big....I'm so used to 1:48 , LSM aircraft catches me out All a bit drab now but once the markings are down ... I'm keeping the skids off till the end as they look flimsy . Laterz PW 4 1
Martinnfb Posted Thursday at 11:31 PM Posted Thursday at 11:31 PM It is shocking that the first thing that comes to mind when somebody mentions Vietnam is Huey helicopter. Not beaches, lagoons or temples. I am blaming commies. tunes 3

I think thats more an age thing , having been raised on a lot of Vietnam films in the late 70's and 80's. when the war had only been over a few years ....pretty sure 20/30 year olds don't make the same association ? Solid tune choice BTW ! 2
PanzerWomble Posted Friday at 11:37 PM Author Posted Friday at 11:37 PM Moving on ..decals ....boring ..... trump's were ok no silvering despite the large size. Meanwhile hippies are freekin out back at home .. ..gotta love the Elevators ... 3 1
KevinM Posted Friday at 11:49 PM Posted Friday at 11:49 PM That looks real good Guy liking it alot! 4
Martinnfb Posted Saturday at 12:35 AM Posted Saturday at 12:35 AM Sweet! Looking good, however the hand holds decals seems to be reversed left and right side. The painted guidelines should be parallel with panel lines. Motivational pics 3
PanzerWomble Posted Saturday at 08:12 AM Author Posted Saturday at 08:12 AM Nice pix - cheers ! I will have words with the stripes 😊 4

PanzerWomble Posted Saturday at 08:07 PM Author Posted Saturday at 08:07 PM @Martinnfb Just wait and see....if it works out........ it will appear in the RFI if it doesn't......... we will not mention it again . Anyhoo , having been shamed by my tawdry research 🤢 , clearly the only option was to rush down to the Helicopter Museum in Zommerzet today and take some pics. ( Yes...... I know it's an H and not a B ...they had sold out B's last week ....ok ?????😔) I can see looking at a real one why the Trumpy one was mocked for its sunken rivets ....it's a very basic fail there . So cute and smiley Chrome door handle call outs are correct though \ This one is a Vietnam Vet . 3
