Administrators James H Posted December 28, 2014 Administrators Posted December 28, 2014 How's the 'rear pit'? Still painful? How's the instrument panel?
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 29, 2014 Author Administrators Posted December 29, 2014 Just painted the tires. Still masked here. I use a mix of colors. Grey, black, light brown, light grey. Lighter on the outside. The nose wheel has white walls. 1
TeWika Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Jeroen, Well, you can at least post progess piccies mate! She's coming along just prima.. hows the fit around cockpit, glasing and fuselage? I've getting the B-2 for my birthday- jippie!! Cheers Ted 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 29, 2014 Author Administrators Posted December 29, 2014 The fit of the glazing is pretty good. With Jim it's perfect. I had to carefully dry fit and sand a little bit. 1
rkranias Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Hi Rick, Any pics from the 202 machine would be greatly appreciated! Only pics of 202 I have is same one you have posted via Watson's Whizzers book. Other pics in book are of Jane and postage stamp size. PM inbound
TeWika Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Jeroen, The is a house in New Orleans- No, that's not it.... there is a book written about/( by, I think Cpt Eric Brown, Brittish test pilot) Called something like captured Luftwaffe aircrafts of ww2. .frontcover shows a pair of Me-262s. One chapter is dedicated to the Arabo: both the Americans and the Brittish ones..there's some good klear pictures of your bird in it... I can't get to it as most of my books are in storage at the moment but Kagemusha and likes should have it (I think) Hope it helps. Happy new year and all the best Ted
TeWika Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Sorry Jeroen, That sould be "wings of the Luftwaffe by E. Brown
Wingco57 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I have that book. Some very nice cockpit drawings but only in black and white. Cees 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 31, 2014 Author Administrators Posted December 31, 2014 Thnx Ted, Cees lives down my street so I'll pay him a visit in the next couple of days and check it out!
TeWika Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Jeroen, Don't know if you seen Aircraft monograph 10 second edition Expanded.? It too has alot of pictures of captured 234s.. Cheers Ted
Wingco57 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Well checked it and I don't have it anymore unfortunately. Perhaps the book warprizes is a good source of info. Used to have it but alas no more. I regularly sift through my books and dispose of the unwanted ones ( and being a RAF-Modeller...) The book by Eric Brown described British captured German test flights but if I remember correctly there were not a lot of pics and only a cockpit drawing in black&white. Cees
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 1, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 1, 2015 Made some small progress today. Gear is almost done. The MDC resin wheels fit great. Just adding the brake line now from 0,6mm lead wire. Also made the open access hatch from strips of green card. Only need to add the door handle. The poleax glass is packaging material i found in the fridge The front gear suddenly missed it's two extra pistons. I'll add these once the gear is installed. Think that will be easier... 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 1, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 1, 2015 Gear all done! The nose wheel can turn and steer. 4
TeWika Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Jeroen, Very smart looking wheelset.. is this from the kit or Oudins set? Ted
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 1, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 1, 2015 Hi Ted, The wheels are from Franck Oudin / MDC. 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 2, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 2, 2015 Details, hinges and handle mount added to the frame. 4
wackyracer Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 This is so cool. Attention to detail is amazing. 1
DougN Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Looks good so far, can't wait to see some paint on this one Doug 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted January 4, 2015 Author Administrators Posted January 4, 2015 Thnx guys! Spent most of the weekend moving my hobby gear to my new man-cave, so I didn't get much done on the 234. Sprayed some thin grey in places I wanted to check for irregularities. The only thing I'm not too happy with is a slight 'overbite' of the upper glazing on both sides. Managed to get rid of it 100% to the rear and front. Luckily the black framing of the windows borders to this problem which will make it less apparent. I hope... 1
One-Oh-Four Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Great progress, Jeroen! I'm busy at the moment with a 1/72 He 111P-2....
