kkarlsen Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Just adding a diorama created in 2014 of a RAAF Beaufighter. So i gave my good old Revell 1/32 (1975?) a complete overhaul, inside and out. After a year or so, reworking all of the model until i was happy with it. I couldn't resist playing a little with Photoshop and a bad model photo, and this was the result. I hope you like it. It all started out by being inspired by this photo found on AWM homepage. 4
Wingco57 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Wow, that is sone very nice modelling. The old ancient fossi...Revell Beau can still be made in a very good model. Well done. Cees

kahunaminor Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Great stuff! The Beaufighter is a favourite of mine and being an Aussie, your work is a treat. Regards, 1
youngtiger1 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Beautiful indeed. Love every bit of it. Thank you for sharing

Administrators Fran Posted January 5, 2016 Administrators Posted January 5, 2016 A awesome work on a oldie!!! Great Dio!
kkarlsen Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Someone gave me an excellent idea. Why not try to make the diorama look like an old black/white photo. So i tried adding a color filter + "dust & scartches" filter in Photshop. This is the result! Here's the 1942 photo....
Members Mikester Posted January 18, 2016 Members Posted January 18, 2016 Great work all the way around!

KeithB Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Are you actually insane or are you still working on it?? Seriously an incredible piece of work. I absolutely love it, everytime I look at the pictures I spot something new. You do realise 'they' will take your tools and paint off you before you go in the padded cell? 1
kkarlsen Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Thank's. I think your'e right and I even have the papers to prove it! Just couldn't resist, I just had to try another one.... 1

theseeker Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Now it all makes sense. We are very close in age and obviously both heavily influenced by Shep. Your tribute diorama to him is outstanding and spot on. The one I want to emulate is the P-61 and now that there is a 1/32 kit, I am seriously considering it. I kept a box of all of the Monogram insets and its amazing looking back on them now. He was way ahead of his time. Rocky 2
