belugawhaleman Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Continuing with my Tamiya Hotchkiss H 39....... Making up the Friulmodel tracks. Having a hard time due to the size of the individual links. I mean these these things are Tiny !! Here, see for yourself .....that's a link on a Penny! Anyway, progress has been slow....Got through about about three quarters of one side of the tracks in two days. However, they look great and I think they'll be a great addition. One thing, however, Friulmodel is using a new type of wire with some of their sets......a sort of soft steel or iron. It's very soft and bends easily.....frustrating at times....might as well use Ramen noodles. I think the reason is that the wire might take the darkening solutions better. BTW.....that's not a comically oversized bottle of Tamiya extra thin.....this tank is small😀 6

PanzerWomble Posted September 9 Posted September 9 @BlrwestSiR Such a lovely cat . Those wheels look ripe for a case of “lets push this off the desk and see if it bounces…..and what about this one …will it bounce? “ 1 4
Martinnfb Posted September 9 Author Posted September 9 The exposed panel line effect looks really cool, much better than standard wash would do. Nicely inconsistent, in my eyes very realistic. 1

And later I can go at it further using odourless turps and a toothpick , or postshading or whatever . After years of using Tamiyas paints its been really fun to learn something new . just need some red for the meatballs 2 1

BlrwestSiR Posted September 11 Posted September 11 To make sure Sunny don't try to bounce any of those wheels, I decided to paint and glue them to a hull. Then I thought it best to add some tracks. This is the recent Tamiya A34 Comet. 7

I built the Bronco one a few years back and it was a nice kit although some fiddly part choices. 1

The tracks are link and length and they even keyed the upper run so that they all line up. There's a few simplified details but I have the Passion Models detail set to improve some of that. 2 1

I had a black retriever she was 85lbs if the collar was off she would catch squirrel/rabbits playing with them it was always my job to do the cu de gra ...I rather do that than watch a slow death. 1

My sister's dog is a 20lb at most Munsterlander. She's actually managed to catch squirrels while being walked on leash. Meantime, the best our dog Jimmy has done is step on a Chihuahua that was annoying him.

Nice work. I have the Tamiya Comet as well. TREX makes a resin detail set for this kit as well that looks pretty good I might get that, but it's usually sold out. I have a set of Friulmodel tracks and a set of TREX resin tracks somewhere not sure which I'll use. I also have a set of Pre-Castro Cuban markings for the Comet . I've always liked the looks of the Comet...it's a sleek, little, tank. 2

The Bronco indie link tracks don't quite fit the Tamiya kit so good thing you have the Fruil ones. The other bit of AM I'm using is the DEF Models mantlet with the canvas cover. 3 1
