Sir Desmond Glazebrook Posted December 13, 2019 Author Posted December 13, 2019 Thanks Harv. As it turns out I needed 2 kits to build one. 2
Jeff Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 Dale................ you mention Fine Molds seat belts................. I hunted all over for a venue that sells them, and came up dry,............. well sorta , there was an Oriental website, and of course it was in their own language, and as I can barely get through our own English it didn't do me a whole lot of good..... where would you access these Fine Mold Belts? I think they might be a great idea for me to try out.......... as I 'might' have more or at least different success with them................ can you point this old hound in a direction, buddy? 2
TJTX Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 Jeff I grab mine of Ebay. They're great little things. Way better than photo etch and much easier than fabric. 3

BlrwestSiR Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Your work looks great to me Dale. Can't wait to see more so please keep at it. Carl 2 1
Sir Desmond Glazebrook Posted December 16, 2019 Author Posted December 16, 2019 Thank you, Carl. Strangely, I had loads of trouble fitting the radiator. It was really out. So I had to sand, then break things off. (Blaming my numb hands) Hopefully after all the glue has cured I can fix any blemishes. I am not going to touch the fuselage until tomorrow. Time to look at the prop. I love the effect Chris Wauchop gets on his wheels and propeller. Unsure how to do this, I am thinking thinned clear with a touch of buff thrown in and then airbrushed. Thoughts? 4

Sir Desmond Glazebrook Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 Thread is over. I broke it with my numb hands. 1
Sir Desmond Glazebrook Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 What to do? I must choose another. I will try something other than an old WWII aeroplane. The only large model jets I have are few. I am lucky I can laugh at myself. 1
Sir Desmond Glazebrook Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 I screwed up the other fuselages too. Not to worry. I have a large stash and my intent was good. I need to do a completely different subject. I only have 4 jets in 1/32. I was disappointed at first. Now I can do something different. 2

I'm so sorry to read this, was really enjoyable watching this build, but am happy you're taking something positive from it. May I ask, how come your hands were numb? Your models are all the more astonishing if that's a permament condition... There was a crash-landed P40 discovered in the Egyptian Desert a couple of years back, which I've often thought would make an excellent diorama... 1
