GazzaS
Recently completed: I spent more time on weathering these tracks than any previously. I think I've learned a lot about how rubber roadwheels react with the neighboring steel by looking at current photos. Thanks for looking! GusMac
Nice dusty look Gaz. The last pic is a great help for how I think I'll weather the tracks on the AMX-30B2 I've got on the go at the moment.
DocRob
Great looking Leo Gaz and the tracks and wheels look stunning. I may had applied a little bit more dust to front orientated parts of the tank and turret, given the dust sodden wheels. Cheers Rob
BlrwestSiR
Great looking Leopard Gaz. I looked around and couldn't find a replacement MG and mount for you. I thought there might be one in my spares box but there wasn't. Carl

I'm not sure if it's the right MG, but if so, let me know and I can send it off to you. Carl

The mount is the crucial piece. I may scratch one some day. Bothers me that I still can't figure out what happened to them. 2

No idea where it went. One huge piece of plastic for the Carpet Monster to drag down into its den.

It's the result of an experimental technique tried for the first time that I want to expand upon in the future.
Martinnfb
It's perfect, that is like I remember tanks during summer exercises, little bit of dust and the slightest hint of mud on the wheels and tracks.Love it !

Thank you! Weathering the tracks was a whole new deal for me. Again, something which I want to expand upon in the future. I made some 'textured mud' with model paste and cheap tube acrylic paints which I stippled on with various brushes depending on the space I needed to fill. Photos from the Bundeswehr tank training areas show a lot of yellow mud. I keep a lot of old grotty brushes way past their freshness date for various purposes. (or I'm a tightwad...lol) One of my main concerns is getting away from pigments, because they are easily wiped away, and often change colors if hit with a clear coat. I've considered that every new technique either creates more work, obliterates a previous layer, or shows me that I wasted money on older techniques.
