  1. I need a "get back to basics" build as well. Unfortunately I start with good intentions but wind up throwing the kitchen sink at it in the end.
  2. Really surprised Tamiya hasn't released a LW colors line. I like Tamiya paint but I'm not real big on mixing colors, Mr. Color is still my favorite though!
  3. Oh yeah, that was part of the agreement to come over here, my old position would be held for me for five years.
  4. I use Flory Wash when I'm concerned about damaging the paint, Windsor and Newton Burnt Umber thinned with mineral spirits is still my preferred method though.
  5. I'm up on him 2-0 in the 190 GB! I think builds for work have been keeping him busy though!
  6. The leadership at the Pentagon have decided that five years overseas is enough for it's civil servants. Probably going to have some adverse effects on the quality of the work force overseas but no one ever accused the people in the beltway of being overly sharp. Anyway, I've got mixed feeling on this. I make better money over here, the hobby shops are fantastic and the travel opportunities are great, lots to do and see. Of course San Diego is nice too. My son's there, I'll be able to get back into a Mustang and life is much more convenient there. I will have to stash as much Mr. Color paint in my household goods shipment as I possibly can!
  7. Looks great, Steve!
  8. I just use a toothpick to apply a dab on the wire, you can paint it to the appropriate color once it dries.
  9. Nice setup, Lyle! I'm hoping when I retire I can get a custom workshop built detached from the house with integrated display cases and the works.
  10. That's why I like the A-Spring, it's steel so it's very tough. You can step on the stuff and it still keep it's shape.
  11. Matt, my apologies, the manufacturer is Wave, it's called A-Spring, Part number is OP-011-120. http://www.1999.co.jp/10009289
  12. I'll take a look when I get home.
  13. OK, this is a good excuse to drag this one off the shelf of doom. I did some preliminary work on the cockpit on this bad boy a couple of years back and then put it back in the box and it hasn't seen the light of day since. I'll have some shots up by this weekend.
