  1. I am always impressed by your work John, bravo! I can't believe how quickly you can turn out such wonderful builds.
  2. My hat's off to you on this one John, nice work! It always surprises me that we find multiple variants and kits of one-off or obscure aircraft like the Do-335 or Hs-129, but modern kits of early variants of the P-51 Mustang are ignored.
  3. I see it's been a while since you posted any progress on this one. I just found it while researching the A6M3 Model 22, any progress in it?
  4. I saw that trailer yesterday on Youtube, looks a bit like John Wick meets Inglorious Basterds... Looking forward to seeing it!
  5. OMG, I have been waiting for some Aleutian P-400 decals since the Special Hobby kit was released. Thank you DK Decal!
  6. I've often read that the Trumpeter F4U-4 is "unbuildable", you have proven the nay-sayers wrong John. Love it!
  7. Just a follow up to this thread, I ordered three of the Hobby 2000 Bf-109E-7 Trops from Super Hobby on the 7th, and got free shipping to the USA. They shipped them on the 8th, and they arrived safely today the 16th. I am very happy with how this transaction went, and look forward to ordering from them in the future!
  8. I like your "brown" color, has that sandy sun -burned look to it.
  9. Thank you Scott, I had noticed the different shipping options and will be sure I have the one I want selected before placing my order.
  10. This is Dory, she's an (approximately) 8 year old Shih tzu/chihuahua/dachshund mix we found in October 2022. We got her from a no-kill shelter in Illinois, who got her from a kill shelter when her time ran out. She's the sweetest dog I have ever met.
  11. I found their webstore this weekend showing they stock the Hobby Easy 2000 Bf-109E kits, and never having ordered from them before I thought I would ask if anyone here has before. If you have, how did it go? I would be ordering a couple of kits from them and have them shipped to me in the USA. Thank you!
  12. Beautiful work Tim, the finished result appears to be worth all of the pain building it. I have contemplated this kit many times, would you be willing to share the file for the 3D printed cowl? I would love to print one if you are willing to share.
  13. My deepest sympathies to you and all who knew Flash, Godspeed and blue skies!
  14. Awww, thanks Maru! I am very happy with this one myself, and already looking forward to another Mustang!
  15. Very impressive, I remember building a kit in this scheme years ago as a kid - don't remember which kit or scale but I always loved that scheme. Bravo, I really like what you did with this one!
  16. Thanks Carl, next time I send you something I'll put a US bill or two in there!
  17. Thank you! Rod - I don't recall where I picked up that seatbelt tip, but it has worked well for me. Nice thing is the currency has a cloth-like texture, and is pretty close in color to many seatbelts. It takes paint well, and by trimming off the edges you can still spend it!
  18. Hi Peter! This is the email I received from Richard Alexander on the 15th of December, looks like the delay is due to a few quirks they wanted to address before it's release: Hi, Thank you again for your pre-order and support (and patience). It really is greatly appreciated. As an additional reward for your support, we have added a free gift of 32P001 Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (Mid & Late) 3Dprint exhausts (value US$12.99) for each K32001 Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (Mid) you have pre-ordered. This is in addition to the exclusive free Darryl Legg box art print suitable for framing. Back in September 2021, when we announced K32001 Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (Mid) was going to be available before the end of 2022, we were pretty sure that this timeline would work out OK. And it very nearly did. But unfortunately it didn’t. Numerous factors have contributed to this, but the main ones are: 1 - The final pre-production samples showed up a few areas that we felt we needed to improve (mostly fit, but some details) before we considered it good enough to release, because you deserve nothing less than the very best quality model that we can provide. Unfortunately, this took a lot longer than we expected. 2 - Various Covid related delays in China which have had some surprising affects to the supply chain etc. In particular is has proven a lot more difficult to get the high quality Cartograf decals delivered from Italy to the factory in China. 3 - The pre-order response (and the response from our international distribution partners) has proven to be even more enthusiastic than we expected. This is a good problem to have, but the result is a much larger production run than we initially planned for, and this in turn takes a lot more time. For all these reasons it now looks like K32001 Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (Mid) pre-orders will not now be available to ship until February/March 2023. The biggest deciding factor in whether it will be February or March will be how much production can be completed before China closes down for Chinese New Year in mid-January. We hope you will understand. Please note that because you placed your pre-order through www.kotare-models.com, you are assured to be one of the very first people in the world to receive your K32001 Kotare 1/32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (Mid) model (and art print and exhausts), in almost all cases this will be well ahead of our international distribution partners. We have also updated the instructions on our website to represent the final print version. https://www.kotare-models.com/products/k32001-132-spitfire-mkia-mid Of courses, if you wish to cancel your pre-order for a refund please just let us know and we’ll do that for you, but pleased understand that there might be a bit of a delay in processing these requests. Thanks again for your pre-order and support, it really is appreciated and it does make a difference. Cheers Richard Hope that helps!
  19. Thanks everyone, glad you liked it! I need to work on my photography I think, as a lot of the more subtle weathering effects are barely visible in the photos. I do appreciate the feedback, thank you!
  20. Good to see you here Pete! We gotta fly together soon, if the weather 'round here ever starts to cooperate.
  21. I finished this one back in August, this being my second (but certainly not my last Tamiya P-51D) Mustang. The only AM I used were some Barracuda Resin tires, Kagero Decals, and seatbelts made from HGW hardware and straps sliced from the edges of $1 bills. I like using the currency for seatbelts as it has a fabric texture, and worn currency seems to "crumple" well. I filled all of the rivets (thousands of them) on the wings, which I like as it more closely resembled the full size AC but honestly I don't think I would go through it again. MANY hours of fill, sand, repeat, repeat again. Painted with Alclad colors and Tamiya acrylics, I am happy to call this one done!
