Aviatik 'Berg' D.1
Clunkmeister replied to sandbagger's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Mike, what’s your secret? I have always struggled with the HPH wet transfers. Despite my absolute care with prep and application, I always end up lifting some up when I pull the transfer sheet off. I’m all ears here, as I’m faced with using their transfers on my B-36, and not just for major decals. It also has about 20 million stencils to apply to it as well. Ernie -

Nice catch, and a decent enough interpretation of the sheeted area. It certainly looks the part, that’s for sure. -
This is what makes it fun, Tony! An entire community catching stuff and creating you more work. But everyone’s jumping onboard here, so I can safely say that your Avenger is going to be the “Group” build of the year. Phenomenal detective work so far! I can’t wait to have our two builds on the table together. Two Canadian classics! Hoo Rah, man!

The world's most beautiful jet aeroplane?
Clunkmeister replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
I AM a traditionalist, and I truly love the look of the big Valiant. It's one seriously gorgeous design that just looks right. Of course, all the V Bombers looked "right", there wasn't an ugly bone in any of them. -

The world's most beautiful jet aeroplane?

I do have some odd tastes in aircraft, but I doubt many will argue my choices. The first is easily one of the most elegant designs ever to take flight, and the second is the most beautiful subsonic airliner ever to take flight. Like a VC-10, but just a bit more balanced. I’d also mention the Mug-29, but Martin beat me to it. -
Happy New year everyone.

Cheers, y’all! Happy New Year from North Texas! -
Tony, just a thought, but have you looked to see if there are any diagrams from the various books on RCN aircraft that may shed light on a starting point from how the RCN performed their initial mods? Then you could just work from their, just as FPL did when they bought these as surplus.

FL 282 Flettner V-6

Oh very nice choice. I have the US Army version of this kit on the shelf and have been contemplating it for quite some time now. -
Silver Wings Hawker Hart
Clunkmeister replied to BlrwestSiR's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I find working with resin much easier than working with most manufacturers styrene. I prefer a soft medium, and for the most part, resin delivers. Kitty Hawk and ICM styrene is nice as well. Im looking forward to see how this one shapes up.- 39 replies

This build is truly awesome! I consider myself a halfway decent resin kit builder, but this is utterly world class! -
No not yet. I’ve been looking at Eastern European Nations that flew US and other western equipment, and didn’t fully adopt Soviet ways.

Maru, give me a call when you can. Tomorrow is OK if you’re not working.

I’d say a Hasegawa WW2 build. I knock one of those out when I’m down and it revs me right up.

Hubert, I can’t golf. If high score won, I’d be a winner. I got lots of range time this year, I found a rifle range that goes out to 1200 meters, so I’ve spent many Saturdays out there ringing gongs from 1100 meters. It also gave this old guy a resin to get his eyes checked.

Smitty, that A-4C is looking great.

Yeah it is, Tony.

I’ve done next to nothing compared to y’all. One big project still not officially “done”, and a quickie F-5 build. A couple or three newish projects started and on the go. As usual, a bunch of resin love
