  1. I'm a cynic. A C-46, Beaver, Otter, Caribou, Norseman, Fokker Universal and/or Super Universal, Fairchild 71C, Junkers W-34, Junkers Ju-52/1M.... Anyone see a trend here? LOL They're all airplanes importand to me and my sense of National Pride. Add to that the CF-100 and CT-114 and the list is now complete.
  2. Absolutely! I'm picking away at it slowly. I hopefully will have some pics to show in a day or two.
  3. Oh thanks Mike. Is Hataka an enamel, laquer, or water based? I'm going to buy some for some of my postwar Czech and Israeli builds, so I guess I'll soon find out. :) edit: just looked at it and answered my own question.

  5. Update, folks. Mom’s cognitive ability measures at 7 out of 100. Other than that, she’s doing well. Dad’s a bit better, but nowhere near ideal. His CO2 levels are down, but he’s stopped fighting the BiPAP mask after some adjustments to pressure. My brother is quite uptight because he isn’t being consulted despite living with them full time. As the eldest, I have the dubious honor of being Power of Attorney, besides, his autism may disqualify him, I dunno. But on Friday we took my best friend to Emergency. Pain si liar to a kidney stone a 9 out of 10 ad could barely function. A CAT scan found a huge aneurism in his aorta, adjacent to his kidneys. It had leaked previously and he was immediately sedated, drugged up, and stabilized. Restorative surgery tomorrow morning.
  6. Has anyone ever found an acceptable match for RAL 6013? Yes I know RLM02 is very close, but it’s not exact, So do you doctor up the RLM02, or is there something closer out there? Comments would be much appreciated.
  7. Rick, one of the hallmarks of a truly world class build is upon close inspection, you see absolutely no sign of all the extra work that was put into the build, UNTIL you put an OOB build next to it. This, simply put, looks just like a Tempest, not a well done model of a Tempest. This is truly stupendous, Rick, and is far and away the best Tempest build I have seen, either in person or in print. Both thumbs up way high in the air! And with your permission, I’d like to pst this on the FB Page.
  8. I just don’t understand that mindset. One of the things I was told when I was asked to help out here was as long as it didn’t involve personal information, blatant personal attacks, threats, or similar, to call the person out and let the stupid stuff stand for all the world to see how moronic a comment it was. Everyone’s an adult and can generally self moderate, especially when your idiocy is in plain view of the world. But I will say that this has to be the most well behaved, happy, and friendly bunch in the modeling community. And the key is MODELLING community. We all build. Most of us have two or three on the go at any one time, plus a bunch on the SOD. We might not be as busy as they are, but given time, I expect it will change. In the meantime, this kit plugs a huge hole in my want list, goofy cowlings or not, even more now with my determination to concentrate more on Civilian builds. edit: went and read that thread over there.
  9. Sluggo, you just nuked my mind on this Saturday morning. All that math so early in the day just cratered my mind.
  10. My first will be a Air Commando Counter Invader in its blackout no insignia except tail codes paint scheme to go with my two AT-28D-5 builds, OV-10A, and Bird Dog. But the next will be a big yellow firebomber Now all I need is a C-7 Caribou and my jungle warfare SpecOps bird collection will be complete.
  11. Tony,I think I have a -3. What’s the difference? You can check mine out if you’d like. If necessary, you should be able to buy a cowl Sprue on eBay for a few bucks.
  12. I can see a fire bomber in my future as well.
  13. Dennis, I'll say it again: GORGEOUS!! We don't see many built anymore, and it's good to see this one come along is such fine fashion. Great Success!! Very Nice!!
  14. YES! This is absolutely BRILLIANT! A beautiful build of a rarely seen version
  15. HA! I was thinking about a Counter-Invader. The gun nose version would be an easier conversion, but this will do...
  16. This is a picture from the Trumpeter table at All Japan Model and Hobby show 2019. This should officially confirm that Trumpeter is bringing us an A-26 Invader in 1/32 scale.
  17. Well, we could all do it agin. I’m game
  18. USPS to South Africa is forever. I received a small box from SA and I had considered it lost. It showed up a year later. It took 7 months from postmark to delivery for a box to Australia one time. I’ve had one box to NZ make it in 10 days. Martin once sent me an envelope from the Vancouver area and from postmark to delivery it was 10 months. No joke. UPS or Fedex for me from now on I think But their brokerage fees are stupid
  19. Agreed. I’d think the latter. Unless Hannants delivers to the desert?
  20. And look at the two in the background. One is all laid down and flat, and the other one standing up straight has no pointy thing sticking out in front!
  21. Tony, just use Apoxie Sculpt over the glass, then sand, carve, and whittle it to shape.
  22. hehehehehe. me like boobies. I actually love boobies. Look, see? All stand up straight and perky
  23. Honestly, so far it's been an absolute pleasure to build. there are no locator pins so make sure you look ahead or have a reference available, but as of now it's given me zero issues. Like a resin kit, test fit, test fit, test fit.
