Airfix decals. Best affixer?
Clunkmeister replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
Dale, that looks bloody decent! I’ve always struggled with 1/72 fighters. My heavy hand screws them up to where they look like cartoons. -
Yessssss!

I was thinking “Empire” flying boat, but I guess the Sunderland’s more or less the same thing. You, Sir, have gone on one serious spending spree. I have the A-12, and it’s basically your kit with an add-on set and addendum to the instruction booklet. Where the fuel tank sits behind the cockpit now sits a second pit.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Rog, when you write a post, look down and you’ll see “click to choose files”. Just hit that and it accesses your pictures on your device. Upload them directly from there. then hit “post reply”, and poof! You’re there.

So by the weekend you’ll be done. Do you delay the choice by three days. John, I’d say an HPH L-39 would be just the ticket........ -
I am replacing furniture, with tool boxes.

You know it, Harv. Little Feat's the best band of all time! -
Dennis, YOU DA MAN!!!! now I've got to dig out my P-61 and see if those are in there somewhere.... Those are the ones, that's for sure. I guess it stands to reason that a postwar Canada would Americanize their equipment as much as needed, and honestly, that's the one single avenue I hadn't investigated. Did you say there might be some AM versions of these out there somewhere? I'm quite happy to scratch them, but if a small company makes them, I'll support them.

Relationship Trumpeter & Hobby boss?

hahahahaha "It's not like there isn't anything on my bench at the moment". That, my friend, is the absolute Mother of All Understatements. (as I look at the latest, greatest picture of Carl's bench) -

I personally don’t know a single person who has bought one from Squadron -

Phil I think it’s just a fluke of the exchange rate. But it certainly works out in our favour -

Awesome news Rog! Here in the USA, we need to order ours from Hannants or similar, as Squadron somehow set the domestic price Nationwide at $250.00. Hannants allows us to land them at our door for about $175.00. Iain’s wing fix is brilliant, and once I’ve finished the Lancastrian and B-36, I’ll certainly give it a go. There have been several truly monumental builds from the box stock kit, which gives me hope. -
1/32 Trumpeter F6F-5 Hellcat
Clunkmeister replied to Ryan's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Shouldn’t that depression continue right to the rear cockpit bulkhead in some form? I’m no Hellcat expert, but it seems to me if you sanded the bulge down to soften that bulge, then combine it with judicious use of paint shading, it would go a long, long way toward eliminating it. -
I finally pulled out the carpet from my building area and laid down some wood flooring. Then, I affixed a clear plexi office mat over the wood so my chair would roll. All mighty high tech, but... plastic shavings and bits of ends of sprues seem to magically sneak under the clear plexi, helping camouflage and wayward small part. It’s an evil plot against my waning bit of remaining sanity, I fear.

Dale did you try multiple applications of Micro Sol? Personally, I’m scared stiff of Mark softener. I’ve had great success with multiple applications of Micro Sol. Especially if you can get the stuff under the decal as well. It’s all I use these days. -

But back to the serious topic at hand. For those who know, is there any reason why Huihuang keeps two separate trade names? I see little to no real differentiation between the two. The B-24 was a Grail kit of mine, so with the obvious let down, it just seems so “Trumpeter” to me, if that makes sense. But I’m going to build one or two, guaranteed, and take a stab at Iain Ogilvie’s brilliant repair if it pans out.
