  1. Martin’s on the case, Tony. You’re in great hands now.
  2. So, some news here on this one. There may be a solution to the treaded tire situation and possibly some of the little bibs and bobs that were added to these machines as well. There might even be some good news on decals.
  3. Tony, what are you using for a clear under the AK enamel? I use acrylic Vallejo wash so it wipes with windex. Curious...
  4. The sad fact, Hubert, is that I agree with you completely. Caudron, Voisin, SPAD, Farman, Nieuport, I’m waiting so patiently..... Willy and Tommy have had enough aircraft featured....
  5. I've never quite figured out the timidness of kit manufacturers regarding this one. This is one of the world's great aircraft of all time, and would be amazing even in 1/48.
  6. Jeff, that'd be great for unclogging the ice floes at the Mouth of the Churchill and Mackenzie Rivers.
  7. Hubert the everr present jokester. I'm just riffed that I didn't think of it first.
  8. OMG Smitty! I just busted out laughing
  9. Gentleman Jack and Billy Bong say. Like Wow, man!
  10. She don’t stick around to much... you don’t know Pam was down there clinging to the earth so you don’t fall off?
  11. Well, a bit more information searching finds that all postwar RCAF Lancs used block tread tires, not the wartime smoothies as the kit contains. And there’s a scoop on the starboard side of the fuselage for cooling air. I expect for the electronics amidships... no real issue there, I’ll carve one of those, but the wheels might be an issue.. Rear observer windows are not flat as I thought, but domed out. Hmmm
  12. Fargging eyesore! Those lousy cork-soakers! Quote from “Johnny Dangerously”
  13. It never ceases to amaze me how far these big Mercs were ahead of their time. So many of the design of these engines were considered "cutting edge" technology in the 1950s. Each time I build one of these models, I shake my head in amazement. Stunning work as usual, Mike' It gives me an idea as well. I have the Shapeways Fokker D.ll wing warper skeleton, and didn't Classic Airframes or Rodent just come out with a D.ll wing warper as well? Hmmmm...
  14. Yea yeah yeah, go ahead and laugh there, maestro. I’ll chuck it in my drill and turn it into a decent radome.
  15. Let it harden overnight, then we’l see If we can carve it to look like this
  16. Well, I certainly ain’t Paul Fisher, but it came out in one piece.
  17. Well, a quick look found nothing really even close to being suitable. A pill bottle was to wide, so,.... let’s cast a cylinder in a pill bottle, use Pam to keep it from sticking (het, it works with my pancakes and vomlets, then get out the Drexel and start carving
  18. I'm looking around and exploring options for the prominent ventral radome. I actually thought it's be an easy "make", and it should be. I can just form one from plastic or a block of wood, but first I'm looking to see if there are any plastic forms that'll give the flattened dome look of the end. The barrel portion is no problem. Of course, I don't have exact measurements of the original, nor do I have any close up pics, but I think I can "eyeball" this close enough. I think maybe a pill bottle for the barrel, and carve a cover out of wood. It's a "one off", so fill the grain and finish it. Not perfect, as I think the original is translucent, but I don't even know that for sure.
