I did some more assembly work while the filler is drying on the body. i decided to scratch build a gearbox assy so you won’t see just a blank plate through the top opening, I used some spare parts and sprues for a little pizazz. I also started painting the main and tail rotors. And finally drilled 36 holes for the hydraulic lines on the main rotor. Unfortunately, this has decimated my drill bits, so I’m going to have to find more.

I’m hoping for some answers that I can’t figure out...I want to build an aggressor F-15D. I have both the Tamiya F-15E and the CJ kits, can I combine the nose and tails of the E with the body and landing gear of the CJ and make a D? It seems to me like it should work, but I’m not sure. I would appreciate any any opinions on this.

While filler is drying, I’m trying to finish up all subassemblies, finishing up the engine, tires, rotors, etc. I’m also trying to bend some droop into the blades, have them sitting in a bent position right now, going to release them in the morning and see if a little stays in. I’m only looking for a little droop. I don’t want to put any heat to them.

As i mentioned above, this is my most prized possession, besides my family. To me this is absolutely irreplaceable. This makes me realize that it’s not who we work for that makes a man, but what we do that makes a difference. There will be another chapter to my career, I don’t know what it is yet, but it will happen...

Yes, I just moved a year ago, but it was for my wife’s new job. I was more disappointed than angry, that an employer I have made hundreds of millions of dollars for, would just get try to get rid of me at the cheapest possible way. I was seriously depressed for a few days. A year ago, my wife got offered a new job with her company that paid 40% more than i made, so it was a no brainer to take it and move. I thought i would have to quit, but after thinking about it for a while, I pitched a trial work at home arrangement and my employer accepted it, I went through two 90 day trials to prove myself and my productivity, both times I got good reviews and the position was made permanent, or so I thought. Last month, while I was on my vacation my boss called an left me a message that a deal went through and we would be selling the management contract back to the manufacturer. I knew it was bad news, but figured we had enough work to keep me employed. Just about a week ago, I was told I could only keep my job if I moved back to Dallas. And I had one week to decide. A total crap move by them. I always worked in the best interest of my company and defended its values and position. I never served in the military, but had an incredible opportunity to work hand in hand with our troops. I was lucky enough to work directly with the US Army and manage a logistics contract and even ran a warehouse for the Army too. I went every three months to AMCOM to give them status reports the program we built. I proudly served the troops that made the OH-58D the most available air asset in Iraq and Afghanistan. And was honored to get the opportunity to be part of a team that mostly was there to keep ground troops alive. The proudest day of my life was when the 17th Cav presented me with a combat mission flag. Yet, my employer could care less now, because that helicopter was retired and no longer even a memory for more than 2 or 3 people now. But to me I had an incredible opportunity to do something few civilians ever get a chance to. Even though my job was eliminated, I still have the pride of what I did. The latest development now is that they are tentatively offering me work until the end of August, then I will get 1 week of pay per year of service, so this gives me almost 5 months to find a job. The definitely re-thought the separation and probably realized that I would probably seek a lawyer. I work with contracts for a living and would not take this lying down. After talking with my wife, I say “F**K THEM!” I’m going to take the package and not apply for another position within the company. I am now looking at this as an opportunity for change. Right now I am waiting for them to send me a “separation package” for me to sign. We will see how that goes...to be continued.

Thanks for the compliment, but I’m really just hoping not to embarrass myself. looking at the pictures, I could have done better with the brake lines, I planned to add pe brackets to hold the line to the gear, but could not find them, later after I finished, I found them. I also goofed and attached one of them to the backside of the gear, I later pried it off and reglued it to the front. I also could have used something to represent the fittings, but wasn’t sure what. Next time I’ll do better. -

Final version, I finished the engine wiring, closed up the cowl, fixed the broken pitot, re-attached broken antenna wire, added brake lines, repaired broken landing gear, and added some dirt to the Eduard IP. Not perfect, but for a 30 day quickie build, I’m happy! It’s going to Chattanooga... -
Convert Eduard Limited Edition SBD-5 Dauntless to SBD-3?
1to1scale replied to crazypoet's topic in Modelling Discussion
its mainly the cowl that is different, I think there are about 4 versions SBD1 through 5. The three had the carb scoop shaved off, and different cowl flaps, but you should be able to rescribe them. -
I think the Greeks get a brand new plane and walk up to it with 5 gallon buckets of grease and mud, then fly it through a dust storm. They like em nasty!

Sopwith 'Swallow 1:32 scale
1to1scale replied to sandbagger's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Looks like a cool project. Can you use the Wingnut wing, or is the shape wrong? another thought, if you can get the warp out, cut a small groove in the wing, then epoxy a brass rod in it to keep it from warping again. I don’t think the bubbles will be hard to deal with, brush paint some mr surfacer 1000 on it, then spray some 500 in a few layers, then sand it back. I believe Archer has some rib tape decals you can use to get detail in it. -
Done, I wasn’t sure at first which one it was, but after looking again, I agree, it’s is definitely an A-26.

Ok, I decided to scrape that seam before I closed up the cowl. -
I think this proves the 1.32 hobby is growing, we are getting some real different kits the past few years. Helldiver, A-20, maybe a B-29?

All the Czech companies collaborate, so no telling.
