  1. Have you checked the Aviaeology Airframe and Stencil decals for Mossie and Beaufighter? There might be some decals on their sheets.
  2. I used Vallejo Metal Air, I like them for dull war weary look.
  3. Looks great, Im not a good woodworker, so I ended up getting some stainless prep tables for myself, but I am jealous!
  4. Here we go! I will be building one of the F6A's that took pictures for the D-Day landings and were one of the first squadrons to be based out of France to support the push inland. I dont have any pictures of the exact plane yet, but it will be AX-C or AX-D, which so far it seems does not have any nose art. I am using the Hobbycraft Mk.1a, the guns will be removed and the holes faired over. It will have a camera and the Malcom hood. I have two Eduard detail sets for the Trumpeter Mustang that will be donated to this build, Cockpit and Placards. I have not decided yet if it will be in-flight or sitting on the ground...TBD. All Markings will be painted from masks, custom and generic.
  5. Nice! I hope is is extra gentle on your next physical...
  6. That’s always the issue, last few group builds I entered ended in failures, as I am still working on cracking the box on on my P-61B.
  7. What would be interesting is to set this next to a 1/16 Abrams.
  8. Yes, Takon, makes them, very, very, very nice kits, I built a couple Takom kits, they fit like Tamiya. $50 is a good price, just make sure to check shipping costs. The best deal I found was this one on eBay, $80 with free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Takom-TAO1001-1-16-Renault-FT-17-W-Girod-Turret/283133333311?hash=item41ec0fcf3f:g:rIoAAOSwZ9xbgD-r
  9. Oh yes, I am a big fan of rolling artillery!
  10. That’s mine, the very last Hobbycraft P-51A I had. I had a huge stash a couple years ago, I think I had over a dozen, sold them off or traded them slowly, I’m keeping my MK.1a for the group build.
  11. I’m throwing my hat in the ring with my F-6A Mustang D-Day+14.
  12. I am heavily leaning toward an F-6A from the 107th, with D-day stripes.
  13. I think you should build a D-day C-47! Greg has one in stock right now.
  14. LOL! That was NOT what I expected...
  15. Here is my take on the show... Am I a little disappointed? A little. But I look at it this way, I budget about $200 a month to kits and supplies, I have no problem blowing that budget. Last count, I had over 200 kits, some doubles, and even 10 P-40's (9 are started, can you guess my obsession?). I am still playing catch up trying to buy the kits that have been released in the past few months that were announced last year. SO while I am always hoping for a 1/32 Val or Kate, I still have plenty of kits to build, including the 15 that are in some state of progress, not on the shelf of doom, but a few have been in purgatory for a while. I am trying to learn patience, but I still have no shortage of things to buy. Last night's auction winnings include a 1/32 Tamiya F-15J, 1/35 Dorchester ACV, and two Wyandotte Tin Toy airplanes. So, the slim 1/32 announcements at the show just give me a chance to catch up and buy a few (5) 1/35 releases that I wanted to pick up.
  16. That was just the tip of the iceberg, I got the house cheap because of it, 7 years later I sold it for twice what I paid. Paint is cheap.
  17. My last house had the full “That 70’s Show” decorating when I moved in.
  18. I was able to start the painting for the interior, I managed to paint the pattern on the cabin carpet, and I’m considering adding a 3rd accent color, also started base color on the seats, still working out what kind of pattern to do on the seats. 1960’s and 70’s colors were pretty garish, I’m working out whether to use turquoise, purple, or red for accent colors.
  19. I am also considering adding some lighting to the interior, but having difficulty finding a a place to put batteries that I can access later. possibly in the nose or hidden under the engine?
  20. This all dry fit in the pictures, once I glue it in, it should close up a few gaps and add some filler, plus there is some "wood" trim that is going along the top seam. I still have a couple tables, ash trays, and some Vodka and glasses to go in the liquor cabinet. After all, you cant have a Communist Political Party helicopter without the party items!
