  1. LOL Paul! I do too. SOOTO stuff is cool. LOL
  2. Thank you Peter. It wasn't a particularly difficult build, just a lot of small, fiddly parts to contend with and my clumsiness. Certainly not even close to the SB2C!😄
  3. I have to disagree with you Ernie. I've built plenty of short run Special Hobby, Czech Model, etc kits and none were as big a PITA as this SB2C kit.
  4. I would think a change of underwear would be in order.
  5. SOOTO! (Something out of the ordinary!)
  6. They should take a look at some of Tamiya's instructions to see how it's done.
  7. Thanks Paul! Something a bit different!
  8. Finished with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/17609-clear-prop-xa2d-finished/
  9. Done with this somewhat less than fun build LOL. It had it's moments and was set aside twice so I could work on the F4U-4. I think it turned out okay and is straight OOB. One weird looking bird. Painted with Alcald Dk. Aluminum. Decals are kit decals. I had to redo the props twice to get them right as I found it a bit difficult to tell exactly which way the blades should face since they all look nearly alike (and I knocked the nose off twice while handling it!). Anyway, this one is done and I hope you guys like it.
  10. Thank you Troy! I'm glad you like it.
  11. Yes Hubert, slightly off but something I considered trying to correct but if I had tried to shift one or the other then for sure something would break. It was difficult enough getting them to "sit"! And I think the real thing did have some variation in that so I just had to leave 'em alone.
  12. I had to come up with SOMETHING to be able to fold the wings as the kit parts were crappy toy-like that just did not work (I tried!). I'm glad I had the unused Tamiya parts to try and they worked out well.
  13. Thanks Dennis. Having unused parts comes in handy sometimes!
  14. LOL Gaz. Akitzuki would be something out of the usual for sure.
  15. Thank you Scott! I'm happy with the way it turned out but, for a little bit there, it was somewhat doubtful!
  16. Thanks Gaz! I'm glad you like it.
  17. I'm glad you like the results of my efforts, thank you. It had it's moments!
  18. Finished this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/17600-trumpeter-f4u-4-finished/
  19. Saved from the SOD! LOL After market items are Barracudacast wheels, Grand Phoenix cockpit set, and a prop from a Hasegawa P-47. I decided I wanted to have the wings folded and found that the crappy mechanism Trumpeter provided was not up to the job. Toy-like gimmickry. SO, I did some brain storming and decided to try using left over Tamiya wing fold parts. I didn't know if they would fit but decided to give 'em a try. And they worked out just fine. The a/c is painted overall GSB with a Interior Green mix for the cockpit. Decals are from Fine Art of Decals and depict a Corsair flown by Medal of Honor winner Lt. Jg. Tom Hudner from VF-32 in 1950 flying from the USS Leyte. I'm glad I saved it from the SOD and am pleased with the way it turned out. I hope y'all like it too. 20. Yes they did and I built 2 of them. The 2nd issue was new molds and a much better kit.
  21. Looking good Peter.
  22. The Japanese warships usually were very attractive with their curved bow and pagoda superstructure. I have a 1/200 Nichimo Akizuki DD that has been in my stash for a long time. A very attractive ship. Maybe I'll build it some day but will likely sell it off.
  23. I've always had good service from HLJ but, yep, the shipping is expensive (but fast using FedEx).
  24. Thank you Peter. Those props sure look mean!
  25. Thinking outside the box! Nice work and looks great.
