  1. Agreed Carl. I'm pretty sure it's a -1a.
  2. Okay guys. I've checked the Tamiya -1a kit and see it really wouldn't be too difficult to clip the wing tips, etc. SO......it's time to build a FAA Corsair. I've ordered the Eaglecal decal sheet and intend to do the overall GSB a/c from HMS Formidable. Stay tuned! LOL
  3. Thank you Dennis. Now if I can just find the kit I might be able to cannibalize the wing tips, etc.
  4. Thanks Bill. I'd like to see a picture or two if it's no trouble. No hurry though.
  5. Thanks Bill. I wonder if the tips would fit the Tamiya kit? I'll check around and see if I can find one somewhere. Thanks again. No luck so far. Ebay, Hannants, Sealmodel, and Litlinx were no go's.
  6. Thanks Phil. I've been considering another Corsair but I have 14 built already and really hate to do another. However, I do love the Corsair!
  7. Thank you Martin! It was quite the challenge for sure.
  8. Thank you Harv. I'm happy with the results but also happy to be done with it! LOL
  9. Thanks Hubert. Yes they were but at some point they just HAD to be fairly clean! LOL
  10. I too find it puzzling that no one has done this. It looks to me it would be a simple thing to make and would see a good bit of interest. Maybe folks are figuring Tamiya will issue a FAA version which I think would be a real possibility. Time will tell I suppose.
  11. Thanks for the info! I will check this out.
  12. I'm considering a FAA Corsair for a future build and am wondering if anyone makes the wing tip sets for those a/c. I have heard it's easy but I'm lazy LOL. Thanks in advance for any help.
  13. Thanks Harv. Sure will be glad to get this one done.
  14. Thanks! Sure is nice to be on the home stretch! I hope to have it finished in 2 or 3 days (fingers crossed).
  15. Thank you Gaz! I was hoping the prop would turn out ok and am really pleased with it too.
