  1. I have been wanting to build another one of these and was able to get another kit recently so here goes. I plan to use the decals HpH issued for the French AF a/c used in Indochina. Should look really nice. Something a bit different (at least for me.)
  2. Thanks. Their kits are very nice with much detail. Not inexpensive though.
  3. Yes. I forgot to add that in my earlier post.
  4. You need FS 30279 Sand for the uppers and RAF azur blue for the undersides. H&B Hobbies has them in their Colourcoats line. They are: ACRN16 Gulf Pink Sand and ACRN12 Azure Blue. Those are RAF colors but they closely match the US colors.
  5. I know how you feel. Some kits have just a bit more aggravation than others. That's one reason I really like Tamiya. I don't recall ever having any high cuss-factor problems with any of them.
  6. I have been considering doing that but it seems the doldrums have passed for now. However, I have a number of armor kits I plan to build "some day" and some ships too. For now I'll continue on with the F-84. Thanks!!
  7. LOL Normally that might just fill the bill but I just finished one and I'm not ready for another right now.
  8. I hate it when this happens! I just can't seem to get the "want to". I have the HB F-84E on the bench but haven't done much work on it other than some painting on the AMS cockpit/seat set. Seems I have to make myself go work on it and usually wind up just sitting there and staring at the parts. Bummer!
  9. Well excuuuuse me!!!
  10. I stand by what I said about getting the SB2C several months ago from Greg. I don't understand why you are disputing what I said. HpH puts a number with a black marker on each fuselage half. Mine is #189.
  11. The SB2C is resin, no fiberglass as far as I can tell. Greg is a stateside HpH vendor. He's on Facebook if you want to contact him.
  12. I got my SB2C from Greg Cooper several month's ago.
  13. Phil, Parts number 20 and 21 are for a closed canopy (as I expect you already know). In a pinch they could substitute for the open canopy pieces #23 & #22. You could still use them, in your case one, to replace the buggered up piece. A little sanding around the outer edges might be needed to enable the "replacement" part to allow the sliding canopy to clear it. Just a thought. John
  14. Looks good. Best of luck on the engine/cowl fitting. It made me say words that aren't even known yet!
  15. If anyone has one of these you would sell or trade for please send me a PM.
  16. I hate to hear that. You can get replacement sprues from Tamiya so why not try that? Save the model.
  17. Just about ready to get this one started. I just received the cockpit set from Harold at AMS and plan to start everything with that. I want to model the a/c with all the red bomb symbols but the only decals I know of are 1/48. Hopefully this will not be a problem as I think I can re-scale them to 1/32 using my computer and laser printer. We'll see.
  18. Very well done! That's something you don't see every day for sure. Nice work.
  19. I'm glad you like it, thanks!
