  1. No it's CA gel. Scale Hobbyist has it. I think using it will be more convenient than the IC Gel I have used. It won't replace the Testor's tube glue though.
  2. Thanks Bill. Not yet on the current -1D. Just about to get the cockpit finished. Pics soon.
  3. I've decided to give this one a try. I've used IC Gel for a while but it looks like this might be just the ticket.
  4. Thanks Jeff. I take a look at it.
  5. Thanks Bill.
  6. YES!!!!
  7. Right on Jeroen!
  8. Thanks Jeff. I'm glad you like it.
  9. Thick CA is one thing I do use. I was hoping someone made a non-stringy polystyrene glue but I guess we'll have to be happy with Testor's stuff.
  10. I've used Testor's tube glue for many years. The only gripe I have with it is it's so stringy. I've looked around on several suppliers sites for a alternative but haven't found anything that looks like a good replacement. Any suggestions?
  11. Since Peter and Ernie are posting some of their favorite builds I thought I'd join in. This is my Tamiya F4U-1D build #2 (of 9 Tamiya Corsairs from -1 to -1D). Off the USS Bennington 1945.
  12. That will be a real beauty! Outstanding work so far.
  13. Beautiful work! Truly outstanding.
  14. Nice project. I look forward to watching.
  15. Beautiful job on that Corsair!
  16. Thanks but it will be a cold day in hell when I ask Jennings for anything.
  17. Uh oh. I see the a/c I intended to build had a -1A canopy. That means I'll have to make another choice as I don't want to put a -1A canopy on the model. Or maybe I'll go on and use the frameless one. Could be that at some point that a/c had one installed. Thanks for the photo Martin. There are several things to look out for when building a -1D Corsair. They include what type canopy (some early -1D's used the -1A canopy), rocket stubs or no rocket stubs (appears early -1D's didn't have 'em), and the cutout step on the right inboard flap. A great reference is Dana Bell's two books on the Corsairs.
  18. Yes indeed, it's a great kit and enjoyable to build. Great photos!
  19. I'm glad you like it, thanks. And welcome to LSM!
  20. Yep. Ya just can't have too many Corsair's.
  21. Thanks. It's like a breath of fresh air!
  22. Will be a very enjoyable build after fighting that P-61 tooth and nail.
  23. Tentatively this is my subject this time.
