  1. All finished with this one.
  2. All done with this one. Thank goodness for the Vector cockpit set as this kit really cries out for that. I decided to model a a/c that is pictured on the cover of Dana Bell's book "Aircraft Painting Guide Vol.1". Paints used were Model Master OD, Testor's OD in the small bottle, Humbrol OD, White Ensign/Colourcoats OD, and Xtracolor OD and Neutral Grey. Also some I mixed. Interior is Colourcoats Dull Dark Green. I wanted to really weather this one to match the photos and I think I came fairly close. National insignia are from a Tamiya P-51D, the yellow serial numbers are from a Super Scale sheet (stash). I had to make my own "246" oval using numbers from my decal stash, white decal paper and a steel stencil. Resized and printed out on my laser printer. I hope y'all like the results of my efforts. Sorry for the crappy photos. I'm trying different settings on my camera in hope of improving same.
  3. Thanks Reuben and welcome to LSM! The Vector cockpit really is a must have for these kits. I just finished my build and will post some photos soon.
  4. That's true but, since Hasegawa has nice '109's and '190's, I would doubt Tamiya would go there. However, you just never can tell about those folks.
  5. 1/32 Hellcat, F4F or FM-2
  6. No doubt it can be a really outstanding model. I just wish it was 1/32. However, I will not pass it up. It just looks TOO good! Any idea as to what the price will be?
  7. My first reaction to the 1/24 F6F was "Too big, I just don't have room for it". After seeing the photos I think I'll have to "bite the bullet" and build one. Really looks outstanding. But, where to put it???
  8. I went back and adjusted the photos to show the weathering a little better. Next will be the underside. Oil stains, etc.
  9. Thank you Martin. Still got a ways to go yet.
  10. Weathering is underway.
  11. Thanks Peter. I was a little worried about how the "246" oval would turn out but it did okay. Now for more weathering.
  12. Very nice work! Looks goooood!
  13. Thanks Gaz. No problemo on the pics. Still a long way to go with weathering, etc. I'm just happy the "246" oval turned out okay.
  14. Thank you!
  15. Thanks Harv. I like it too!
  16. Decaling under way.
  17. Better pics are coming.
  18. Won't be long Peter.
  19. Painting and decaling about done. As there is no decal for the "246" in the oval on the nose I will make them using this stencil and numbers from my stash. I will apply the numbers in the ovals, which are inked in on a strip of white plastic. I will then scan them into my computer then resize and print them out on white decal paper using my laser printer.
  20. Okay. I was going to suggest something for the gun belts if you were going to have 'em open.
  21. Looking good. Coming right along. Do you plan to have the nose gun doors open?
  22. Thanks Peter. Several shades of OD are in order here.
