  1. Thank you Dennis. I'm pleased that you like it. I'm happy I was able to get the old model looking good.
  2. I agree with your decision Peter. When a build is like that there's no point in sticking with it. SOD it or bin it then move on to something else. Anything Tamiya or Hasegawa would be good. Preferably in 1/32. 🙄
  3. Thank you Paul. I had 2 of their Zero kits at one time and sold them. Japanese a/c usually aren't my cup of tea. I'm not completely ruling a Zero build out of the question but it won't be soon.
  4. Painting complete except for some small touchup areas. This camo will take some getting used to on this a/c! 🙄
  5. Since I changed subjects in mid build I had to change out the top cowling flap piece to reflect the correct layout. Luckily I didn't break anything!
  6. Yes it is! I have the green applied on the uppers and will apply the grey next. We'll see how that looks. I'm sure it'll be quite different from the "usual"!
  7. Undersides painted Sky. Sure looks different from a USN bird. Top sides later today.
  8. Now that Danny (Vandy1) is sending me the decals I need, this is the a/c I will complete. About time I did a FAA Corsair!
  9. That's the one I was figuring on doing. I'll send you a PM. THANKS!
  10. Thanks Carl. Jerry is in luck as I have the needed decals. Always happy to be of help.
  11. I feel sure I have them. I'll check and PM you. I don't understand what the deal is about receiving PM's. I'll have to check it out.
  12. Thank you. The Tamiya Corsairs are really first class kits and build up to be very nice models.
  13. Fuselage is together. I will putty over the 2 little side vents then proceed to the wings.
  14. If I decide to make this one a FAA bird I'll likely have to find some decals for the roundels and codes in my decal stash. I'd rather get a dedicated decal sheet like Eaglecals #EC152 but so far I haven't been able to find it. We will see how it goes! 🙄
  15. A bit more progress on the cockpit. The seat belts are FineMolds.
  16. Time for another Birdcage Corsair! The Tamiya kits are a pleasure to build and that's what I need at this point. I'm not certain as to which a/c this will be but I am considering a FAA bird if I can find decals for it. Not set in stone but we will see. Cockpit sub assembly about done.
  17. Agreed Paul. This hobby is supposed to be enjoyable.
  18. I was looking forward to building it as I really like the very late war color scheme. Maybe a Hasegawa kit later on.
  19. Thanks Kevin. I really should do some rigging but maybe later on.
