This is a Otaki 1/48 Corsair that I modified as a F2G Corsair many years ago. As you can see it's in need of some fixing up! My plan is to remove the decals, canopy, etc, clean everything up with some warm water, and re-paint and re-decal the model. I hope it will look like new! 🙂

I'm calling this one done guys. I think it turned out pretty well although the canopy part is still MIA. I hope it will turn up at some point. Attaching the nose antennas was a very tedious process. Hard to get each one straight and when I tried to readjust them I usually broke another one off so I finally decided to leave 'em be. I painted the model with Xtracolor, White Ensign and Testor's MM. Decals are Aeromaster. I plan to build another one with a little different camo scheme. I hope y'all like the model! 🙂

The decals settled down nicely. Very thin, etc. My fingers are crossed also......🙂

Lotsa progress made. Still hoping to find that lost canopy part.

Painting and decaling completed. I'll see about attaching the landing gear next. It looks like it will be very touchy. I don't have a canopy piece ordered from anywhere.

On thinking about it I've decided to go on and finish the model since I am so far along on it. I hope the part will show up at some point.

Bad news! Somehow I managed to lose the top of the canopy clear part. I've looked all over but no luck. I don't want to continue the build not knowing if I can complete the model. I hope to come across the part at some point but for now I'm going to set the model aside. 😒

Love that Xtracolor paint Peter. Always a winner. 🙂

Thank you Peter. Actually the horizontal tail fits rather well. I guess it just doesn't show up that well in that last photo. Might need a little smoothing out but nothing drastic.

It fits a little better than the kit nose. Should look okay after I smooth in the underside. 🙂

Resin nose attached. Not too bad fit except for the underside where there is a "step". I'll putty and sand this area and try to blend it in. Shouldn't be too difficult. 🙂

Progress so far. Fit could be better. I have the kit nose and a resin Cutting Edge nose. At this point I think I'll go with the resin nose as it looks a bit better.

It's always something Kevin. I have about quit forking out extra $$ for "expedited delivery" as it doesn't arrive any sooner than regular delivery. Good luck!🙃
