  1. LOL I'm glad I checked this before proceeding with more work.
  2. I decided to test fit the vac canopies before going any furthur. I'm glad I did because, as you can see, they are too wide and a bit too long. I don't know how I'd correct that so I'm going to put this one on the SOD. 😕
  3. So far this is the only really poor fitting area although some others don't fit all that well either. I've done some work on it to try to fix it and it looks like it might be okay. Dremel and white putty LOL.
  4. Test fitting the cowlings. NOT good. This area is the worst fitting so far. Possible SOD candidate but not just yet.
  5. Fuselage joined up. Quite a bit of sanding and puttying needed.
  6. Thanks Peter. I really like the kit (except for the very fiddly landing gear and wheel well stuff). I might decide to do another in the Atlantic gray/white scheme. Would fit right in.
  7. I've had this kit for a good while and I feel it's about time to build it (or at least give it a try LOL). I think it's a cool looking airplane and it's a shame it wasn't put into production.
  8. Done with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19693-eduard-fm-2-2-rfi/
  9. Finished with this one. Nice kit with not many "headaches". Those being the fiddly bits that make up the landing gear and wheel well details. I decided to do two of these, one in overall GSB and the other in tri-color. This one is painted with Mr. Color and Testor's MM. Decals are from a Aeromaster sheet. I hope you like it.
  10. Aside from a little touch up painting is done. Next I'll spray some clear gloss and then start decaling. When that's all done I'll spray it with some clear flat and do some exhaust stains, etc.
  11. Thanks Peter. I've started painting already and am using acrylics (Mr. Color and Tamiya). I think they are good paints plus they dry faster than enamels. Stay tuned.
  12. I see there have been 77 views on this as of today, the 15th, but not a single post aside from Peter's. I have to say that's concerning and disappointing. Makes me wonder if it's worth the effort. 🙄
  13. Cockpit about done. I have to say though, it has a high cuss-factor! Fiddly bits and my old eyes just don't get along! The engine and wheel struts/wheel bay are also high cuss-factor areas as I found out on my previous build and this build is proving no different. 🙄
  14. Thanks! No Kurok, I doubt it LOL. They have some really nice 1/48 kits but that scale isn't my preference now days. I'm building the FM-2's because I've always wanted some good kits of those a/c and their 1/48 ones were the only game in town as they say. Now, if they do more in 1/32 that's a whole 'nuther thing! But continuing to build stuff in 1/48, unless it's something like a B-17, etc, just ain't gonna happen. LOL
  15. My usual procedure is to pre-paint most of the parts. This helps in assembly and later painting.
  16. I decided that, since I have another one of these kits, I may as well build it too but in the tri-color scheme. Should go well with the 1st all GSB build.
  17. LOL Scott. I'm glad you like it. It's a real easy and enjoyable build and I doubt you'll have any problems. I look forward to seeing yours.
  18. Thank you Kevin. I'm pleased you like the little Wildercat build!
  19. Thank you Peter. No harm in wishing that's for sure. We will see!
  20. This one is done and RFI: https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19688-eduard-wilder-cat-fm-2-completed/
