Thanks Chris. I'm glad you like my '109 build. When I first saw photos of this a/c I decided right then to build it. I'm happy with the results. Thanks again!

Thank you Martin. -
Completed this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19956-bf-109k-4-white-16-finished/

Calling this one done. I added a Aires cockpit to replace the somewhat sparse kit item plus some FineMolds seat belts. Other than decals that's the only after market I used. The canopy snubber was a acupuncture needle!😄 The decals are from my decal stash. Paints used are Colourcoats, Tamiya acrylic, Mr Hobby acrylic and Testor's MM. I depicted this a/c as I figure it looked before the wings were removed and the airframe beat up. I hope y'all like it.

Oh well. I can live with it. Too much trouble to modify. -

Thanks Reuben. I am not aware that there is anything wrong with the landing gear bays. Please enlighten me! -
Gonna be a beauty Carl!!!

Thanks Peter.

Thank you Martin. Now if the decals would just show up I could proceed with the build. 🙄
-
Thanks Paul. Coming right along!

Painting completed. Most of the decals are now applied so I'm just waiting for the white "16" decals I ordered to show up. I feel like this one will be a really neat looking '109 when completed.

Thank you Carl. I ordered the needed white numbers in the correct size and style from Fantasy Printshop in England. At last notice they have arrived in the US so hopefully they will show up soon and I can get that part done (if the snail mail PO doesn't "misplace" it) and proceed with weathering, especially the heavy exhaust stains.
-
Thanks. It's the Revell kit which, I think, is originally Hasegawa. Now to await the needed decals........🤪
-
Painting just about done. I'll add the decals and then prepare to add some weathering, especially heavy exhaust stains.
-
I agree Martin. They just "look better" than the "ordinary" schemes.

Thanks Martin. It's hard to tell with much accuracy what the camo colors are so I'm going with educated guess's. Too bad the photos of this a/c aren't in color!
-
That's the plan Peter.
-
The camo colors are estimated RLM colors on this a/c. Certainly not carved in stone since the photo is colorized but I think they are close.🙄

Right now I'm working on the spinner stripe. Not at all easy to get it right. I've tried a couple of decals and couldn't get them to set "right". I've been trying to find a shop that has the Eduard stripe mask set #JX502 but no one has it. Would anyone have one to spare or can you direct me to a "shop" or someone that has one for sale? I've checked with Hannant's, Sprue Bros., Scale Hobbyist, Squadron, Montex, Maketar, Hobby Link Japan, Free Time Hobbies, and ebay with NO results. You'd think someone would have one available. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Update: Looking through some more of my stash I found a '109 mask set for a G-14 which has a spiral on it. I'm going to give it a try and see if it does okay. Should be fine!

Thanks Peter. I don't think I'd go that far but their cockpit sets do add a lot to a model.

Getting there Martin.
