  1. I managed to ruin the canopy so now I'll need a replacement. Bummer!
  2. Sounds good Tim. I look forward to seeing it.
  3. Painting, except for some touch up, about done.
  4. Looking very good!
  5. True Kevin. It's coming along.
  6. Good idea Peter! We'd have to stick to Tamiya and Hasegawa.
  7. I wouldn't say "sailing right through it" but enduring the process! Getting those gear parts together is a test of patience to say the least! Very high cuss-factor for sure.
  8. I'll start on the landing gear today Peter. Hopefully I won't have the problems that you encountered. We will see!
  9. See what happens when you blink! LOL Thank you Phil!
  10. LOL Yep, coming right along Gaz.
  11. I was pleasantly surprised at the mostly good fit of everything. A few little spots that needed attention but not a big problem.
  12. Thanks Dennis
  13. Thanks Peter. Not a intentional "speed build", it just happened that way LOL.
  14. I've decided to use the kit cannons Carl. I drilled out the muzzles and they look okay for use. Thanks again for the tip!
  15. About ready to join the nacelles to the wings and then the wing assembly to the fuselage. (Thanks again to Carl for the heads up on the forward bulkhead/nacelle fix.)
  16. Thank you Peter.
  17. Cockpit about completed. Terrible instructions make a already tedious job even more tedious. Good thing I have some good photos of a Whirlwind cockpit.
  18. I hope so Peter.
  19. Thanks Dave. I'll check those out.
  20. Guys I need a set of guns for this build. Quick Boost, CMK or any other manufacturer. Can someone recommend a source, preferably in the US? Thanks!!!!!!
  21. The Whirlwind has always been one of my favorites too Dennis. I hope it turns out nice!
  22. Thanks Carl. I'll make a note of it. The fewer headaches the better!
  23. I may be sorry but this kit has been on the shelf too long so now I think it's time to build it. I know it has some problems but I'll try to work around them as it should make a really nice model. This is the one I have in mind. (I saw a post on FB where a group is rebuilding a REAL Whirlwind using parts from one that crashed. I think that is great and hope we will see a full size Whirlwind at some point.)
