  1. Yup, the second one down is #21 but it's looks like John already picked #22
  2. Hi John Sure looks as if you're on a 109 roll for sure. of the four schemes, I'm voting for # 21, not that it carries any weight.
  3. Ernie Thanks you just saved me a cool $24 and will go with the Kotare as it's in the box.
  4. Kev Looking mighty good and glad you're tackling the Italeri kit; the only real game in town. I've always been a big fan of the Tigercat (grew up halfway between Grumman and Republic in the 50's & 60's) and was so excited when HPH announced their Tigercat. But after Brian started his on LSP which seems like decades ago, I decided not to purchase the kit as it was way over my head and nowhere close to being the type of kit I wanted to tackle. Still hoping someday, someone will issue one in 32nd scale that doesn't require the massive work Brian had to do on his. Since I've left LSP many, many years ago, I have no idea if Brian actually finished his.
  5. Arrived the past week and my planned purchases for this year are almost complete with just two more kits to be added and some AM as well. Dug this out of the stash to accompany the Skyraider.
  6. OMG, a Vindicator - way too much to ask for and if they do and if it takes another thirteen years, I'm sure I won't be around to enjoy the kit. Just being realistic, as being 75 and not in the best o health these days.
  7. Interesting thought for doing the night fighter version.
  8. Thanks Gaz Getting pretty excited about priming and hitting the paint booth now.
  9. Thanks Rob Finally starting to feel good about the build as with your Arizona, as the smaller parts and assemblies come together, she is starting to look like herself. Just feels good to have hopefully navigated all the roadblocks.
  10. Shasa WOW, simply beautiful work and your treatment of the black paint finish is spot on - looking so realistic. 🏆
  11. John Absolutely awesome - a perfect finish - air brush and decal work are simply stellar. One beautiful build.
  12. John Heading over to enjoy the completed build photographs. I'm still amazed at the speed you built the 190.
  13. Oliver Incredible work - just amazing. I wish I could understand how you look at photographs and then visualize how to recreate then in scale. No question, it's a very special gift.
  14. Ernie Nice progress on the Hurricane - hope you can buy Tamiya filler by the gallon can 😉 I still haven't opened up my kit which is sitting right next to the Kotare Spitfire - I'm hoping and waiting for Quinta cockpit sets for both in the not too distant future.
  15. Thanks Carl Hoping you're right as the 109 has been a a handful so far and it looks as if, I've corrected all the issues and am now wet sanding and getting ready for priming. Of course, I completely ran out of my standard primer; MRP Lt Gray and just placed an order for a few bottles. Hopefully they will arrive just as I'm ready for them.
  16. Thanks Kev Sure hope so, as I'll the results of my lung biopsy procedure on Thursday and then know the whole story.
  17. Martin, Thank you - getting there slowly but surely.
  18. Thanks John Getting there slowly but surely now.
  19. PREPPING FOR PRIMING TEST FITTING AND MORE TEST FITTING Not much modelling this week as I had a hospital surgical procedure and needed a good few days of rest at home. What alignment worries I imagined I might have from the very early stages of the build are now the cause of some fit issues. My guess is I wasn’t brutally careful enough at the very early stages, most likely when building and installing the front office and surely this is the cause of needing a lot of test fitting and adjusting. Thinking back, adding all the ZM PE to the IP seemed as a good idea then but has caused some fit issues as well – just should have gone with the included panel, painted, added the decals and moved on. The engine bay wasn't perfectly square and required some work and a bit of 'builder’s license' to square up the assembly up as best as possible. I wanted to display my engine cowling a bit differently then John did, so I decided to have the lower engine cowling closed, while leaving both of the upper cowling panels open. The instructions again were vague for me as how to install the cowling hinge bracket and a few emails to John, helped work out a solution. Radiator flaps are going to be left open, the flaps will be in the lowered position and the ailerons slightly offset. There are four combinations of hinges to pick from depending on the control surfaces positions and care needs to be taken to choose the right set. Exactly how they fit into the rear of the wing is a bit of a guessing game. Slats were installed in the closed position – as they just look better. The remaining lower fuselage panels were added, sealing off forever the last of the interior details. The prop and spinner assembly were built up, look good and ready for primer. Checking for any obvious re-do’s and now it’s priming time.
  20. Rob WOW ... right on the money - as the details and assemblies are added, it's a whole new ballgame and the Arizona is looking fantastic. All the hard work and countless hours is paying off is spades.
  21. Pete Absolutely stellar looking. Weathering and details brilliantly done.
