  1. Thanks Carl Hoping you're right as the 109 has been a a handful so far and it looks as if, I've corrected all the issues and am now wet sanding and getting ready for priming. Of course, I completely ran out of my standard primer; MRP Lt Gray and just placed an order for a few bottles. Hopefully they will arrive just as I'm ready for them.
  2. Thanks Kev Sure hope so, as I'll the results of my lung biopsy procedure on Thursday and then know the whole story.
  3. Martin, Thank you - getting there slowly but surely.
  4. Thanks John Getting there slowly but surely now.
  5. PREPPING FOR PRIMING TEST FITTING AND MORE TEST FITTING Not much modelling this week as I had a hospital surgical procedure and needed a good few days of rest at home. What alignment worries I imagined I might have from the very early stages of the build are now the cause of some fit issues. My guess is I wasn’t brutally careful enough at the very early stages, most likely when building and installing the front office and surely this is the cause of needing a lot of test fitting and adjusting. Thinking back, adding all the ZM PE to the IP seemed as a good idea then but has caused some fit issues as well – just should have gone with the included panel, painted, added the decals and moved on. The engine bay wasn't perfectly square and required some work and a bit of 'builder’s license' to square up the assembly up as best as possible. I wanted to display my engine cowling a bit differently then John did, so I decided to have the lower engine cowling closed, while leaving both of the upper cowling panels open. The instructions again were vague for me as how to install the cowling hinge bracket and a few emails to John, helped work out a solution. Radiator flaps are going to be left open, the flaps will be in the lowered position and the ailerons slightly offset. There are four combinations of hinges to pick from depending on the control surfaces positions and care needs to be taken to choose the right set. Exactly how they fit into the rear of the wing is a bit of a guessing game. Slats were installed in the closed position – as they just look better. The remaining lower fuselage panels were added, sealing off forever the last of the interior details. The prop and spinner assembly were built up, look good and ready for primer. Checking for any obvious re-do’s and now it’s priming time.
  6. Rob WOW ... right on the money - as the details and assemblies are added, it's a whole new ballgame and the Arizona is looking fantastic. All the hard work and countless hours is paying off is spades.
  7. Pete Absolutely stellar looking. Weathering and details brilliantly done.
  8. Scott Nice work on the gear and getting the Revell Office ready for the Quinta decals. Going to look awesome.
  9. Scott Nicely done and looks great. Right with Ernie, why don't we have a 1/32 Beaver and twin Otter?
  10. Scott I'm completely blown away - I just could never have imagined the diorama. Modeling is superb, execution is flawless and the impact of the see the diorama is spellbinding. Brilliant work in every respect.🏆
  11. John Looking so good and of course, who doesn't snap off those small antennas at the end stages after being so careful not to.
  12. Chris WOW the Big Cat looks fantastic ... and here I thought you were taking a break. Absolutely awesome work on an Oldie but Goldie, that you brought out the best - so glad you kept at it and tackled all those obstacles along the way.
  13. Chris Most important is your health and of course, it comes first. If the Big Cat is taking its toll, just put her aside until the juices start to flow again. Time for a kit that isn't going to fight you and make a battle out of the build.
  14. John Looking forward to seeing the decals and markings on as well.
  15. John Paint work looks smooth as can be. Looking so good.
  16. Chris Nice progress and the exhaust staining is looking good.
  17. Oliver I only wish and as Disney would say .... when dreams come true.
  18. John Sounds correct as paint seem to be one of those 'parts' that are open to a wide interpretation by manufacturers. And then throw in shortages as the war progressed and just getting close must have become good enough.
  19. John Brilliant work and your research on colors is amazing. I'm happy to realize model paint companies have numerous interpretations of the RLM colors I'm using on my 109. Are the color variations you are using due to model paint companies or what was done during the war as supplies of paint colors must have been hard to come by.
  20. Oliver Your devotion to miniaturizing the real McCoy is beyond comprehension. I truly believe this is the craftsmanship museums would do backflips over and request for display. Incredible work.
  21. Thanks Dennis, Yahu has one now for the Revell Hurricane and I'l be ordering it from the Squadron Shop.
  22. Chris A good scare and your body telling you, you are over doing it. Stay off your feet, rest and don't push it. Just glad the bleeding has stopped. And of course, follow your doctor's instructions to the TEE!
  23. Phil Unbelievable progress! Some mighty incredible work on the details as they are bringing your PT up to a new level - awesome work.
