  1. John Looking good and a better then good fit of the wings. Actually, they look perfect as is.
  2. John Just had a feeling you had something up your sleeve 😉
  3. Rob Don't drive yourself nuts with the filling and sanding. One thing I discovered over the years when doing a third and maybe fourth filler in the same area, is to thin out the filler. I use Tamiya White Putty filler and thin it with a few drops of extra thin of self leveling thinners. Seems to level out easier and makes the final sanding a lot easier. I also wet sand most of the time at this stage. Of course, following all your work these years, you would never know as the sanding, filler and paint work always looks perfect to me.
  4. Gus Very nice paint work and the light weathering is looking so good.
  5. Chris Hang in there as your making terrific progress. I think the photograph of the wing with the worn off paint would be from water spray during takeoffs and landings, especially in salt water.
  6. kev I feel your pain and completely agree. When I built the 1976 Monogram Kingfisher for the GB, there was a boatload of glass and I had no choice but to spend nearly four of five full work sessions masking with super small strips of Tamiya tape cut on a Infinity Mask Board. While I did have faint canopy frames to work with, I was still ahead of the game as your Emily doesn't have any. Good choice on letting the build slide as the masking would easily drive you to drink, not to mention a lot of shaking and cussing as John would say, LOL.
  7. John Holy smokes that seems like a lot of weight considering the kit only calls for 40 grams. My money is riding on you as always.
  8. Gaz Got ya. At 75 it's been years since I could see any type of details without an Optivisor or a magnifying light/lens. Oh the joys of getting old. 🧐
  9. Kriss Absolutely gorgeous finish - beautiful work.
  10. John Nice start on the Hasegawa Typhoon's front office and going to be following all the way,
  11. John I've done the same more then once - order a piece of needed Am, waited and when it came, I realized, I ordered the wrong one. Had to be a LONG senior moment when ordering. John, how much total weight are you using? Sure, hope it isn't too much for the gear to handle.
  12. Have to admit, I still use stretch sprue - old habits just stick around forever.
  13. Scott Looking mighty good .. keep those happy mistakes coming.😉
  14. Chris Amazing progress and all that sweat, worrying and hard work is paying off. Canopies and glass look good and the PVA will dry clear. The engines do look so good now in their homes and I just knew you would work the empennage assemblies into place and they do look good. Your Big Cat has made the turn on is pointed in the home stretch now. 👍
  15. Very nice progress - paint and decals are looking good.
  16. John Not really. Nothing is billed to my CC and when ready to ship, I need to pay and compete the purchase. The pre-order cost was $89.95 which I thought was fair and I just didn't want to miss out. Of course, being a Trumpeter kit and a good decade old already, I'll be waiting for some AM before building.
  17. Carl Nice decision to stock up on the Tamiya Thinners and cleaners. I never realized how much Mr Color Self leveling Thinner had gone up in price. going on buying. The Gundam kit looks pretty cool and would be a neat build to follow.
  18. I contacted the Squadron Shop and received a reply within minutes. Pre order done. Excellent customer service
