  1. Nice to see BNA carrying the kit but at double the price from when Jetmads was selling it. Maybe they paid retail and are now selling them?
  2. Carl No question you're on a roll and making fantastic progress. Nive work on cleaning up the gear as metal gear does take extra work to whip them into shape. Mask work looks perfect as well.
  3. John Amazing progress and I'm betting: last to the part and first to cross the finish line!
  4. Thanks Carl, so the kit comes with the wings already built up? I never knew that . But you know me, nothing like a Tamiya kit to grab my attention and bench time.
  5. Rob, much appreciated. Combining Tamiya and Quinta cockpit sets and the results are just awesome. Yup, no issues at all ... just loads of finely detailed parts that fit together wonderfully with the toughest part, keeping them away from the carpet monster. Pretty amazing the leap in engine power over a hundred years span - technology keeps marching on.
  6. Martin. nice going .. going to be a huge help for Ernie.
  7. Fingers crossed, hoping your scanned masks work out.
  8. Thanks Kev feels good to be back in the saddle and not keep falling off. Absolutely enjoying the ride.
  9. Paul, Nice buys .. yup, right now Mr Surfacer is plentiful here in the states but as always, that will change and hopefully, we won't see the; Out of Stock notation on availability any time soon.
  10. Amazing how fast the aerospace industry advanced in technology and performance is such a short time.👍
  11. Thanks Carl, nothing like sinking your teeth into a Tamiya build to get the juices up and running again. Which Tomcat is waiting in the wings?
  12. Chris, thanks so much and glad you're on board. The Tomcat is loaded with tons of finely detailed parts which required a steady hand, as I've been fighting a daily battle with the carpet monster. Started on the missiles in the wee hours of the morning while waiting for parts to dry so I can keep moving forward, making up for a lot of wasted bench time on the Songbird. Gear is built and ready for paint - Tamiya went all out and they look great (next update). Flexy 5K CA Black CA Thin is the best CA I've ever used. Slow drying, thin enough to fill cracks and thick enough to fill small gaps and being black, you can see where it has been applied. They also make a series of clear CA as well and both types are so very highly recommended. .
  13. Ernie Nice progress and of course, they blew the nose art. Do you have another set of decals with the right style and shape nose art? 🤞
  14. Carl Good call on using Nato Black, as it has the faded look that seems to be weathered right out of the bottle - my favorite. black.
  15. Carl Nice progress for sure and paint these days, just doesn't seem to go as far as it use to
  16. Carl Nothing like inspiration to keep the juices flowing.
  17. Mark Nice progress for sure on you day off.
  18. Dave Looking mighty good and if the decals are that bad, masking is to be the way to go.
  19. Carl Cammo is looking mighty good.
  20. Thanks Mark, so far, the Tomcat has been an enjoyable build.
  21. John Welcome aboard ... perfect entry for the GB.
  22. John Another terrific 109 build .. looks fantastic and I seem to favor the late war schemes myself except for the BOB 109's, especially with the Yellow Nose. 🏆
  23. Some mighty nice progress on your Big Cat.
  24. Nice to see reservations are going to be taken soon but what happened to the other planned kits before the Thunderflash? Been waiting for the Mystere for what seems like years.
