  1. Group build?
  2. Sorry to redirect the flow, I just picked up the 🦊 body from the shop. We’re expecting a weather change next week and I don’t want to run it on salty or wet surface. however I had a chance to uninstall the alarm system and got a battery tender in preparation for a long winter. I am still dealing with some electrical issues, but that can be done in my garage. In matter of fact I rather trace it myself. No offence to the current level craftsmanship. But it seems that nobody takes pride in their work anymore and techs nowadays are not trained to think outside the box.
  3. Very nice, makes me wanna re-read the 'Big Show' book again.
  4. Thank you Mike, that's a humbling compliment
  5. That's terrible, I recall back in the day nobody really cared about safety, even seatbelts were considered an "optional" feature. Yeah, me and that car have this love/hate relationship going on. back in the day
  6. Scott I spend about 20 years modifying this thing and racing it on the track. It was way before people considered taking mustangs anywhere else than 1/4 mile. You can not polish a turd 100 grand later I decided to civilize it, removed the cage and Heim joint suspension, moved the battery back under the hood and the bench went back, same as the carpets and seatbelts. Talking about S550, I got bored by it super fast. My wife sees the light at the end of the tunnel, I see the tunnel only. You know what I am craving as an automotive enthusiast ? A project like Jeep TJ Unlimited, or old Land Cruiser. Or even S197 Bullitt would do. or 3rd/4th. generation Vette. Cars with character. Aesthetics of the fox body generation can be described in one picture
  7. Thank you for the kind words Kevin.
  8. Meyers racing flared fenders, rear is flared as well. 90+ hours in the body work. front end is loaded so as the rear. still turd
  9. Yes indeed SVO Mustang in the eighties had a fife lug and a small 4-cylinder turbo. That was the right approach , small and light. to put V8 into weak fox platform, with underpowered brakes and whiny transmission was recipe for disaster. Not talking about complete design turn from the classic mustang pedigree. OK , I'm grumpy and tired tonight. LOL The thing about Beat is its weight distribution and the way how they adjusted the brake bias. Brilliant little machine.
  10. Yay. The 5 lug conversion was stolen from the later model SN 95 (93-04) gen. Mustang. So as the brake system. But the performance times are over, now I'm going to discard the Griggs torque arm and heavy coilovers for a cushy ride. It's never gonna be as comfy or fast as my S550, but it's not supposed to be. It is an overgrown ford Escort, based on lack of logic, aesthetics and reason. Rachael wants to keep it, so be there. If it was up to me, I would torch it and send it to Russia. Oh and I'm gearing down to 3.55s as well,..... in my eyes , capital waste of money.
  11. I’m After more than a decade I pull this turd out of storage and had the “out of province” inspection done. now for the hard part. Front end is loose like grandpa’s shorts, I have a whole bunch of electrical issues, steering pump whines like Russian conscripts so as the fuel pump. In short, lots of work ahead. I’m probably 8 grand away from a decent ride.
  12. This is exactly how I felt about the Kotare Mk.1, easy and trouble free build. Will follow with interest Peter .
  13. Looking all business already. Me likey
  14. indeed T80 , rubber backing, double pin. 6 pieces per link, clean up was the time-consuming part. perhaps 4 hours. the assembly was easy. now to the actual model, which should be fun. well, tomorrow.
  15. RLE on my right eye should help somewhat.
  16. I actually severely damaged my eyesight , dealing with the consequences as we speak.
  17. Cool stuff, the amount of imaginative engineering that goes to those models is stunning.
  18. Thank you Carl, I just started Andy's E-8 and it's a night and day difference. Absolute joy to build. And great canvas for some obsessive detailing. Aiming for this at the end.
  19. Such an ugly duckling of a plane, but at the same time really cool, especially that splinter scheme. Looking really good Scott. 👍 Edit: check out the F-22 in the background, it looks like it has some super dark haveglass gunshipgray going on there
  20. There were no beads at all to start with. I messed them up on the fenders, having no time to fix it before the show, they look little odd. Honestly , there's so much more to add and correct and at this scale possibilities are endless.
