Certainly your wife (or SO) has some old purses and shoes you can throw out to make room for it in the closet?

I don't particularly wait around for Tamiya's releases anyway, so they can make whatever.

Firefighters pushed Mustang GT-350 out of a burning home
[CAT]CplSlade replied to Martinnfb's topic in General Discussion
I saw some pics from the Paradise fire. There was an older vintage car they didn't get to in time. Not as valuable as the 350, but still a shame. I have a bit of a personal attachment to the '66 as my mom used to own one. All that is left is a pic of me next to it on my tricycle. -

Actually they are supposed to be reduced parts and simplified construction, as well as less PE. If you check them against earlier versions of the same kits the early kits have more complicated suspension components, such as separate parts for the rubber tires. They basically took advantage of improvements in slide-molding to retain fine detail without the need for as much PE. The DS tracks were another step along that path, although that wasn't a step many of us approved of. I think we are fortunate to get the barrel at least. -

Mine has all that, but it goes against their own concept of what the Smarts were supposed to be. Not that I'm against a nice metal barrel, but all the tool clasps are ridiculous. -

Sad thing is I am building a Smart Kit which is supposed to simplify many of the things found in the earlier parts-heavy kits, but many of the parts have no plastic alternative. -

Yes, I am building their Marder III H right now and was going nuts trying to build a PE latch for the bolt cutters last night. -

Oh, by the way, if anyone Stateside is interested DragonUSAonline.com is having a Veteran's Day sale now until 11/12 where the code VET50 gets you an additional 50% off in-stock items. Shipping is free if you go over $99. I know that doesn't help you, Gaz, seeing as you live in one of those bizarre third world countries I heard about on National Geographic. -

rye field model 1/35 Panther Ausf.G - Cutaway Turret & Hull
[CAT]CplSlade replied to James H's topic in Armour/AFV Reviews
I am glad they overcame some of the mistakes they made with their Tigers and provided what might arguably be the best Panthers on the market now. -
Well, if it makes you feel better the Meng is a G1 and the Rye Field is a G2.

The entertainment industry here really thinks they can earn enough by catering to a very whiny 8% of the population who seldom actually buy their products, and they have been 'getting woke and going broke'. Most Americans (nearly 70%) are tired of the PC nonsense souring everything people used to enjoy doing. My daughter was watching an episode of 'The Fosters' while I was making dinner a few days ago and they made a blatantly false statement concerning the 14th Amendment which showed the demographic they were aiming at.

Well, I know of at least one guy over at that 'other' site who seems confident he is perfectly safe. He certainly seems to enjoy mocking the couple of us who have actually worked in the IT field who seek to offer advice on being safe.

So just finish eating the PBJ and you'll have room on your bench plus a full tummy. How much room does a sandwich take up anyway? -
I know you've also built a few Texan kits, and the 190 is my favorite German fighter. So you can see why we feel as we do.
-
You having that problem, too? My local HobbyTownUSA has been gradually shrinking its armor section and there are maybe a handful of LSPs. The freakin' giant robot section is growing for some reason. They claim their distributors just can't get them in, although noone else seems to be having that problem. I know mail-order/ebay hurts them, but not having kits in stock doesn't help either.
-
Yes, I realize that, but the relative scarceness of one to the other does have an affect on one's value system. For example, if someone told me a Shelby Cobra was destroyed in a wreck, I would be mighty relieved to find it was one of the continuation cars and not an original '60s production model.
-
Ah, man. I really needed 21 for my project.
-
Well, I need about 40 pieces of German armor to have every vehicle listed in the Encyclopedia of German Armor of WWII, but several of them haven't been kitted yet. And there are several LSPs that have been recently announced I have my eyes on, including two that are causing a lot of tension on 'another' board.

I miss whitewalls. I had them on my '69 VW bus.
