  1. Jealous... too far away! I wanna see Ernie's stash, too!
  2. Bummer.
  3. Nice job, John. Very well done. It is one strange bird.
  4. And here we are again.... No matter how I tired I couldn't be satisfied with the way the canopy looked. So, I took an unusual step. I employed Soviet pink caulking. of course.... macro photos again. And very rough. I would strip the whole thing if I wasn't ready to move on. So, I'm just gonna keep rolling.
  5. It's here...
  6. Sorry to hear about your frustrations. Seems to me this is a "Tape-and-see" kit. In other words, tape it together and see if and how it fits before wasting your painting energy or adding pain to your frustration by potentially wrecking your own paintwork. But I know you will prevail!
  7. Thank you Phil. Thank you, Rob. I figured I could get away with some things in 1/48. But the macro photos kinda screwed that. I was 50/50 whether I would leave the windscreen up, or lay it over the hood.
  8. I do. I do... now... Akitzuki, maybe? You need a target for all of those USN birds.
  9. Well done, John! Great solution for the wing folding mechanisms. VEry clean presentation.
  10. Hi Everyone, Since the one detail I had consciously decided to omit was the first question brought up by DocRob... I added windshield wipers made from stretched sprue. And... for added detail... An edition of Pravda... carefully shrunk down to 1/48 scale. I also painted up our figures... sadly the driver photos turned out to bad to show. Not that the pilot photos are perfect. While painting my pilot, I discovered he was molded with a cleft pallet. Way to be inclusive, CZPlusmodel! Here are some more jeep photos. It;s been matte coated, so Ima call it done. Happy modelling!
  11. Fabulous, Mark!
  12. An American and a Russian meet Satan at the gates of Hell. He asks both of them if they want to go to American Hell, or Russian Hell. The American asks what the difference is between the two. Satan replies:: In American Hell you eat one shovel full of shit in the morning and are then free for the rest of the day. In Russian Hell you eat two shovels full of shit. The American says: "Easy... I'll take American Hell." The Russian says he will take Russian Hell. Some time later, the American and the Russian meet by chance. The Russian ask the American how he is doing. The American replies: "I'm doing great. I eat my shovel of shit, and then I'm free for the rest of the day. How about you?" The Russian replies: "In Russian Hell is better. Some days no shit. Some days no shovel" Today... no wipers.
  13. Many have discovered that it is the same formulation as extra thin and have begun to use it as such.
  14. Thank you! It's a cool looking little jeep. I hear they are as dependable as you could want.
  15. Excellent job, Fran. Sometimes I forget that you build models.
  16. For those who don't know... I love birds. Some more than others. Crows and ravens are a favorite. I refuse to own one or cage one, though. Who could deny another being the joys of flight?
  17. Thank you... I find myself looking at anything else I could sell and the packaging difficulties that may come. Kind of daunting. Thanks, Peter. The frame is sturdy. It supported this model over bumpy roads with no problems. Thank you. Not sure about profitable. I didn't charge for the 'labor'.
  18. Thanks. Hasegawa 1/32 Bf 109F4 Marseille.
  19. Thank you, Peter! Not really sure about the seats yet. They look a little too speckly for me.
  20. As usual, Peter, your detail painting makes the cockpit shine. keep it coming.
  21. Thank you, Rob!
  22. Wow... 15 days since my last update. Well... there was a model show one weekend. All weekend. And a club meet... and another club meet. Anyway... Today I weathered the Gaz 67B. I'll matte coat it tomorrow. Tonite the decals dry... All three of them. The dirt shows up better in person. I didn't want to go crazy with it. It is an air unit after all.
  23. I've decided that instead of chucking my old builds into the bin when I run out of space, I would at least try to get some money back for them. So, I sold my Erwin Leykauf Hasegawa 1/32 Bf 109F4. I saw a video over at TOS where a guy who regularly sold his models, demonstrated his packaging method. I followed his method step for step except that I added the four pink pillars of dense insulating foam. You've all had that moment when a heavier box landed corner first on the exact center of another box, right? Hopefully it gets there in one piece. I have my doubts. But I did write a fragility warning into the description at EBay. The framework is all glued into the box. Nothing can move without snipping those rubber bands, or using a hammer or axe. God's speed, little buddy. I didn't ask a lot for it. And it sold in two days. I know some people ask crazy amounts for them. Maybe I will for a subject I really love, someday. Used a lot of hot glue, I'll tell ya! Anyone else ever ship one?
