  1. HI everyone, Yesterday, while I was at work, the HGW belts arrived. I wasted no time in installing and lightly weathering them. Some guys like to really grub them up. But I don't. I gave them a light brown wash, and then "chipped" them with off-white acrylic paint. I can't imagine a pilot from any nation happy to climb into a plane in his pristine flight uniform with anything in the cockpit looking like a soiled mechanic's uniform. Unlike most 109's, this one actually has a lid to the cockpit tub. It's dry-fitted for now. Finally... I did a little wing work while waiting for the belts. The lower-wing panels fit without gaps. Nor was any sanding required to get them to lay evenly. This kit is just amazing regarding fit. Happy modelling!
  2. Coming right along, Daniel!
  3. That brass sheet idea is great. Alu foil with microscale glue would do the same except it would accentuate and flaws. Nice progress, Ern. You're getting some real work done.
  4. Thank you oh grammar cop. Yes.... the semi colon thing is an ongoing problem.
  5. Thank you, John! Learn and love, John!
  6. Interior looks great, Phil. Slings on the rifles gets two thumbs up from me.
  7. Phil, bummer about the fuselage stripe. Such an easy detail to put out of place. The rest is great, though.
  8. Muchas gracias Martin. I have it now.
  9. So, how can you be certain this machine has an antenna mast? Hell... it might even have the large bulges for all I know.
  10. Looking forward to seeing the result of your sanding, Chris.
  11. I have some HGW belts on the way, Chris. TBH... mine don't look a lot like the other's do.... I'm just not overly keen on cockpit detailing. It would be cool if I had some real color references to look at.
  12. But where does the antenna wire go?? It can't just stop at the canopy framing. Unless closing the canopy connects the wire lead to the radio?
  13. And to think, I called you wise in a previous post! Wet blanket!
  14. I just realized something... This 109 doesn't have an antenna mast! Woohoo!
  15. Chris, Once when I was talking about being afraid to build a kit, a very old and very wise man once said to me: "What are you afraid of? It's just a model."
  16. Excellent job, Bill!
  17. It's a good thing that RED is my favorite color.
  18. Looks great, Bill! I'm curious about the pipe cleaner thing... what effect were you going for?
  19. Great work, John! Sure looks good!
  20. Welcome to the forums! What are you building?
  21. That engine looks brilliant!
  22. Peter, I'm glad to see it ready for paint. Looks very good! Also... thank you for the foam block idea... love it!
  23. Thank you, Kai! The wire bundle is actually a structural part. It holds the starboard panel to the rear cockpit wall. Besides... it's still pretty hard to see once closed up. I am enjoying the wing assembly despite my fears of wrecking it. It's something new and I like to learn about the way the 109 was put together.
  24. There you go Rog.... fixed it for you.
