Did he go to the IPMS nationals maybe?

Dang that was fast! Looks good! John if you build any faster, on your next build the RFI will be posted BEFORE the WIP comes out!

šDude! I can work with both options, I'm a mostly lazy modeler when it comes to putting seat belts together. Plus these meat hooks ( and worn out eyes) don't handle tiny PE belt bits very well! š

More Resin seats with molded in seat belts. I have several of his corsair and mustang seats and love 'em. Now we need them for the A-20 and Devastator- for starters.

I've been eyeing this conversion myself so I'll be following along and taking notes.

Nice pix!! It is three colors, the left elevator looks like it is dark gray as from and E model.

I think its more like 20 years lol. It'll be interesting to see the kit in person.

So, you finally got one of your grail kits that just came outā¦..
The Dude replied to ScottsGT's topic in General Discussion
It was probably the same kit just an earlier iteration of it. The box art was euro 1 scheme with Barksdale hog face markings. this one... https://www.scalemates.com/kits/monogram-5505-a-10-thunderbolt-ii--133144 -

My first holy grail kit when I was a teenager was a good A-10 kit. Monogram delivered with the then new tool 1/48 kit back in the '80's. Started it the minute i got home with it. Built about 8 of them in the next few years after that. Then Trumpeter did the 1/32 A-10, same thing started it the day I got home in the early '00s done a few of those too. 1/32 lancaster? Started the HK kit about a month after bringing that one home too... Other grail kits i started within weeks of buying one when they first arrive on scene: 1/32 trumpeter mig-29 new tool (built 3 so far) 1/48 GWH flanker family (on my 4th one right now) 1/32 trumpeter su-27 (completed 2 so far one one the SOD) 1/32 tamiya corsair and mustang. (7 corsairs 5 mustangs) 1/32 revell he-111 (done 2 P's one H so far) 1/32 tamiya f-15's.(4 E's and 4 C's) 1/32 hasegawa fw-190a and d series new tool (done about 16 of them over the years) -
So... I understand one of the overflow hotels is Ernie's place? Right on! (The drive isn't too far from the convention center ..)

Border Models Lancaster B.1 "Victorious Virgin"
The Dude replied to Winnie's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Wait a minute.. I thought this kit was supposed to be a future priceless commodity and not to be built?? Actually, I am glad that one of these will be built and see the shelf soon! I will check in often on this one! š -
Tamiya Spitfire MK XVIe
The Dude replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Don't feel bad, the spitfire kits were about the time frame i noticed Tamiya had problems with their decals. I went through 2 different sets of Spitfire decals that were disintegrating until I got a good set. I also had bad sets from a few 1/32 f-15 from them as well. I now try a unused decal from the sheet an see how it goes. -
Very cool model and striking paint scheme. Thanks for sharing Jerry! š

I've dealt with them several times.. no problems so far.

Well I ended the year spending the day in the ER with several kidney stones. Not recommended!! Woke up with what I though was a sore back muscle and within about an hour I was doing the kidney stone boogie, if you've had one then I am sure you know what i'm talking about. Finally the wife had enough and called the ambulance and off I went. They got me in fairly quick and gave me a drip bag of morphine. Now THAT I recommend! Did a CT scan and found 5 stones total including the ones on the way out ranging from 1-2.5MM each, so more fun on the way! Hope y'all had a better New Years eve LOL!

Well I was going to go but my appendix had other plans for me and decided to leak/perforate a few weeks ago and since I walked around unknowingly for awhile with it perforated (I thought it was a stomach bug), I'll be dealing with that this week .. Something I don't recommend BTW and luckily the infection didn't go septic. Fortunately I was able to cancel the hotel and get refunded but, damn I wanted to go!

1/32 Revell Panavia Tornado G.R.Mk1 no. 4760...is it any good?
The Dude replied to GazzaS's topic in Modelling Discussion
If I am not mistaken that is the OLD revell mold from way back when (mid 1980's). I wouldn't touch it unless you want a basic slate for a super scratch build/P/E resin project. The new revell mold is much better as is the new Italeri one but that is a GR4. HTH -
Our local hobby shop has them already! Took this pic this morning just as they came in..

Yup, the John Holmes of the squirrel tail world.

Good save, glad no one was inured. It sucks though that they will probably have to tear it apart again from all the salt water getting into everything

That's easy, the engineer is the one standing around and NOT getting his hands dirty, (god forbid).
