  1. That's easy, the engineer is the one standing around and NOT getting his hands dirty, (god forbid).
  2. Good choice!! Quite frankly I would've picked that house over Vegas too.
  3. Well you can tell the guy that he has pretty good computer skills for being in his late '90's. Marvel him for being next to the real thing in Germany/Europe in 1944 and had time to study or measure out the tank in detail while he was there and record the markings/color/options/etc for posterity. Problem is that most of the folks that used most of the subject matter we build in miniature from past wars didn't care what it looked like or the color or the dimensions of it. The only thing 99% cared about was that their equipment kept them alive to let them go home one day.
  4. Hell yeah, now that would be a fun side trip! Trust me, if I could I would. Maybe we can walk around the vendor room together and make everyone feel short.
  5. I never signed up for any of the popular social media bullcrap. The headaches/BS far out weigh the benefits in my opinion and wallowing through a bunch of pretentious garbage to find tidbits of good isn't my way to spend my rare free time. I check out a few modeling forums and few hot rod/muscle car forums and that's it. The whole social media ordeal is driving people apart more than it's bringing people together IMO.
  6. I feel ya! Colder than crap here too. 8* last night. Ironically enough my challenger looked very similar.
  7. Oh man!! Here is to a speedy recovery Harv!
  8. Wow, only 14? We need to work on increasing that number... I have that many on my bench just in the build rotation!
  9. I will be there! Got plenty of LSP's to bring to the point of attaching a trailer to my suburban to haul it to LV.
  10. If we are saying any scale I'd have to say the GWH 1/48 Su-27UB. Awesome detail, fit (so far) is nearly perfect, another gem from GWH.
  11. Yes they did, they even put the stick on the other side for the British variant....
  12. See Ern, what a great support group you have here, we all forgive you and we are willing to help relieve any guilt that you may have.
  13. Well Ern, It's only gluttony if it's over 100 kits! However if it is, I'll second Bill's advice.
  14. That is great! I bet that was not cheap.
  15. i have a tall tamiya mixing cup that I spray it into. Don't spray it straight down, spray it toward the side of the mixing cup to disperse the splatter.
  16. I just decant the testors dullcoat spray into a container then into my airbrush, no thinner mixing needed. Been doing that for years no problems other than an occasional mess.
  17. Good to hear all went well! Indeed if someone at a model show spit, licked or touched me inappropriately (unless it was a good looking gal) they would be in a hospital and not because of covid, lol!
  18. Very cool, wish I could go! There has been ZERO model related anything around here since March of this year. Nothing. All the shows and even our local IPMS club meetings, cancelled. It sucks big time. Have fun for the rest of us!
  19. Mine is staying on one project at a time. I'll work on a kit for a little while- a few days to a few weeks then put it away for whatever reason. Usually to let something dry or simply loose interest in it then I'll jump to something else and do the same thing again. I have anywhere from 8-10 projects in rotation at any given time and once in awhile 2-3 models get finished in quick succession. That's one reason I rarely do WIP threads, it would get drawn out waaaay too long in-between updates.
  20. I've done dozens of WWII luftwaffe plane in 1/48 and 1/32 scale over the years and one of my unfortunate defects is A/C colors. I've used a few different brands of RLM colors for both fighters and bombers and IMHO the best match for Rlm 70/71 is the humbrol enamels. Even though I love the testors enamels they were off and didn't look right to my eye. I gotta say though I fought the humbrol paint tooth and nail but the end results were worth it, but you'll need to use humbrol thinner to airbrush them. Most photos showed little contrast between the two colors even in black and white shots. Here is a shot with humbrol paint of my he-111h-6 and a good view of the upper surface of a real one.. HTH
  21. Thanks Harv! I should be there barring and natural disasters or lottery winnings!
  22. Not to worry bud, it only becomes a stigma when you start to do 1/72 fighters..
