  1. So are you going to try and get the 1/200 Bismarck to go with it?
  2. So, after having gotten sucked into a Leopard C2 with way too much AM (Voyager PE, Legend resin bits, etc,) I decided to start something quick and easy. Pretty much one colour, no AM, and a reasonably low parts count. I don't have too many pics as it just went together how I wanted. Nice and easy. The plastic is two colours for some reason but the fit is fairly decent overall. The smoke grenades are partially buried in the turret sides so those had to be painted before I glued the turret halves together. Where I am as of last night. It's almost done except for the on vehicle tools, lights, and decals. I should have it done shortly I hope. Carl
  3. I haven't seen any decals for an FAA Seafire either John. Considering that the old Revell kit was/is the only option OOB, it's sort of understandable. Maybe look at stuff for FAA Corsairs and cobble something together? For roundels, you can get masks from Maketar that would work too. Hope that helps. Carl
  4. That's like cheaper than bottled water.
  5. Made that mistake a little while back and man was it expensive. Anyone want a Bandai 1/72 Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon? I've got an extra... Carl
  6. There's an idea. Maybe pick up the sprues from Tamiya and replace the HB engines. I wonder if that would be enough to see her back on the bench... Edit: forgot to say, a very nice engine John. Can I send you a couple of mine to build if you need to keep something on the bench? Carl
  7. Great review so far. Can't wait for the rest of it. Carl
  8. Vancouver has some of, if not the highest prices for gas in Canada. It's 93.9ยข per litre CAD at the Costco near me in Toronto. Which probably explained the massive lineup. Jeff, I heard that BC is one of the cheapest places to insure a supercar because of the way rates are calculated on them. But due to the proportionally high number of those cars being written off in crashes, everyone else gets stuck with the bill. Hopefully they fix that bit. Carl
  9. Happy birthday Jeroen! Carl
  10. Hey Martin, see if your insurance company will spring for this upgrade: https://jalopnik.com/this-ford-mustang-is-a-lamborghini-gallardo-1831106101 Although you do lose the rear seats... Carl
  11. John to the rescue! Carl
  12. And if it doesn't match, don't be afraid to send it back to them to make it right. I did with our car. There was dust, fish eyes, non functioning turn signal, and a scratch in the paint when I got the car back. I took green painters tape and placed it everywhere I saw a flaw and made notes on the tape so they knew what it was they missed And they had to give me a rental while they redid the work. Carl
  13. Ours is supposed to look like that too. But the crawl space is almost nonexistent as the back of our house where the kitchen is is 13 inches lower than the front. And being in the middle of a group of row houses, we're not fixing it any time soon. At least we were able to move our pipes out from under the floor into the kitchen so they don't freeze in winter. What you get when you buy a 125 year old house. Carl
  14. Plus there's not enough weathering from all the handling and transit. Carl
  15. More than the number of F-35s...
  16. Great to see what you're doing. Love watching you guys that can scratch building just about anything needed. Carl
  17. My in-laws are Scottish so I could always get one of them to say it.
  18. Nice trip to memory lane Gaz. Here's to getting it finished this time around! Carl
  19. Very nice Razorback John! Glad you made it over the finish line. Carl
  20. The Sherman is turning out nicely. Your bench reminds me of mine, just neater. Carl
  21. A couple more notes. TheOD sprayed dead flat compared to Mr Color which has a more satin finish to it. Clean up is as easy as Mr Color too. I use Tamiya airbrush cleaner for that purpose but I'm sure any regular lacquer thinner would work. Martin, the paints are definitely available in Canada. I picked mine up at my my LHS and they stock the full range. They're waiting on the aircraft colours to show up shortly. Carl
  22. I've been using their armour colours. I find they're thicker than Gunze Mr Color so need a bit more thinner but spray really nicely. I'm using Mr Color Leveling thinner for thinjing without any issues. They've also got a distinctive odour to them but I'm happy how they're working out. I used it on my Sherman Firefly. Carl
  23. But did you say/read it with a Scottish/Russian accent?
  24. Man, do I hate insurance companies. Martin, I completely feel your pain and understand your frustration. They screwed up a claim I made in April and assigned me as at fault for a collision that wasn't (I hit a guy that ran a light). Because of their mistake, they refused to renew our policy but didn't tell me about their decision. Had we not switched cars, we wouldn't have known about this and would have nearly been driving without insurance. Because of their mistaken assignment of fault, going to another insurance company would've been astronomical in premiums. After threatening to sic the ombudsman on them, they finally fixed the clerical mistake they made so that I could get a policy elsewhere. This is after I've been with them for over 15 years. The kicker is they're happy to pay for fraudulent repairs. I told them the body shop charged them for things that weren't broken on my car when I got the bill back and they said "that's the nature of the industry". Jeff, I hear the horror stories about BC insurance and almost feel glad I'm only paying Toronto premiums. Carl
