  1. Fantastic work there Dave. Very clean work with gluing all that PE in place.
  2. I remember those! CADEX I think Giant called them. At least the mountain bike version anyways. Carbon tubes with aluminum lugs. I had a Trek road bike built the same way from the mid 2000s.
  3. Seen at Eurobike, the new Giant full carbon fibre balance bike.
  4. A blast from the past. Okay ,not really a blast but a kit I built as a kid when I was maybe 7-8 years old. Simple enough. I want to practice getting a gloss finish so it'll be an OOB build.
  5. Riich sell the running gear and tracks as a separate upgrade kit for the Tamiya kit. I have it and it's definitely lots of small parts. In 1/16, it'll be closer to a typical 1/35 armour kit.
  6. You're doing a great job on the stencils Chris. I'm going to have to do them on the 1/48 F-4 kits that I have so that will be a challenge. The Japanese absolutely loved them on their Phantoms.
  7. Great work on the carbon decals there. Rob, mine is the old Tamiya 1/12 kit. With the new 3D printed tires I got for it, I don't have any more excuses to not start it back up.
  8. A bit more work done on the Border Tiger. So many road wheels. Once dry, I'll paint the other side.
  9. Nice! I wonder how that compares to the even older Gunze High-Tech kit?
  10. I did more of the detail work on the MLG. There's a set of springs that are used to retract the gear legs. They attach to the linkage arms onto the brass rod I inserted earlier. I drilled a second mount into the gear bay beside the MLG leg The kit includes a resin piece for this spring but I replaced it with some steel spring wire I have cut to length. This was slipped over the brass rod in the gear bay and then onto the pin on the linkage.
  11. Thanks Peter! Definitely coming together and hopefully I'll have her done soon.
  12. You're going to get your wife to glue the blast deflectors on? Nice progress and hope the family visits and DOCTORB visits go well.
  13. Nice work there Peter. Glad to see you're enjoying the time at the bench.
  14. Nice! Here's the tribute one at Vintage Wings. The restoration crew signed the wing under the slat
  15. You certainly can't. Keeps your lap warm in winter, catches the odd errant part that you drop, even samples the work occasionally. Although the latter might not be the best. Thankfully our dog hasn't tried. At 115 lbs, I suspect things would end badly if he did.
  16. That's unfortunate. Hopefully she can find someone that will be interested in taking it over.
  17. Happy birthday young man!
  18. Nice to see this back Rob. It reminds me that I have my own MP4/6 in the stash to finish.
  19. Great that you found one. It'll look good next to a Golden Hawks RCAF Sabre.
  20. Saw this in the neighbourhood the other day. I thought of @PanzerWomble's new ride.
  21. Scott, there's too many medical professionals in my family to try the same. My sister in law is an ER doc, my father in law is a retired pathologist so they both saw up close what could happen. It worked for a friend of mine though. Maybe too well. He introduced his girlfriend to riding, he was on a Honda CBR at the time. She liked it so much she bought herself a Triumph Daytona. A monster of a bike but she learned how to ride it properly.
  22. You need to get two. One for each of you!
  23. Time to pick this build back up and hopefully finish it. The landing gear legs are in brass, which is great as they'll hold the plane up. There wasn't much cleanup needed thankfully. On the linkage arms, I drilled and mounted a brass rod to use to anchor the retraction spring. I then installed the main legs followed by the linkages Time to let this set up.
  24. Paul, what's the Dax like? I was looking at that kit the other day for some reason.
