  1. So the kit is very nice. No nasty surprises and goes together really well. Scribed the panels for the birch wood ply to the best I can workout from the limited images of these birds. Masked the wood sections off and started with a base of Tamiya Buff. Next I added a good dollop of white to the colour cup and filled the centres of the panels. The left is Buff, right with the added white. Next up is black around the panel edges. Then a coat over all with more white and a touch of buff to blend it all together. Here's where I'm now at with the metal work all done (Alclad airframe and polished aluminium) to the fuselage and main wings and AK true metal on the tail fins. The airelons have Aviattic's linen decals for the fabric effect and work really well with a very nice linen texture. Unfortunately the camera doesn't pick it up that well. Next up the Uschi wood decals. Aaron
  2. Excellent work Jim, very impressive. Still awaiting mine to arrive from Czech. Unfortunately the Czech/English postal services managed to loose the first kit they sent so new one has just been despatched. Better luck this time I hope. You guys will all be done before mine arrives LOL.
  3. Excellent Jim. Thanks very much for the time and effort you put in to produce these reviews. Just need to decide which ones to get now.
  4. Thanks a mil. Great stuff from a great set of guys and site. Luv LSM!
  5. Oh nice. When did you order Ja? Mine is yet to arrive but hopefully this week now yours is here.
  6. Great stuff, the pit looks spot on. Really looking forward to the arrival of mine, this build is a great reference.
  7. Few in progress pics from the build of this amazing kit that I showed http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/3161-horten-ho229/. I'll add some more as the days go on. Jumo internals Then sealed up! Jumo's completed Armament Framework Wood effects with oils Assembled frame and engines Aaron
  8. Sure is Jeroen. Got loads of stuff from them. Also got some of the new Aviattic fabric decals from Richard to use on the airelons. Looking forward to seeing how these workout.
  9. Excellent. Got one of these to build shortly. If it turns out half as good as yours I'll be happy.
  10. Hi After the ZM Horten 229 I'm still into this wood and metal look so thought I'd try the Trumpeter Mig 3. Big Ed set, Quickboost Seat and Exhausts, Uschi decals and Alclad for the metals. Replaced the sidewalls with Eduard etch and applied Alclad Polished metal and built up the cockpit. Quick pic of the seat and base. Aaron
  11. Hey Jase. Mig 3 is superb, working on the same kit and lines of thought as you at the moment LOL!
  12. Excellent start Jim. Thanks for the tips on the glazing.

  14. Uschi decals and preshading (decals are transluscent) along with oil glazes over the top.

  16. Gentlemen. Here's a sneaky peek at my Zoukei Mura Horten Ho229 that I had at Telford on the Scale Modelling Now stand. It was not finished at that stage (only had it for just under 4 weeks) but she's done now. The build features on the SMN site so hence only this pic here. Aaron
  17. Lovely work. Looking forward to receiving my kit now.
  18. Nice review Jim. Apart from the Roland C I need all the rest for kits being built (Roland D.Viib) or awaiting in the stash!
