1/35 B17 ....for the man who believes that 'size is everything' ...? .......that'll be a 36 inch wingpsan ....maybe I'm in the wrong place but that's lost on me gents . π Who the heck has room for that ? Even wrestling it around to build it is beyond most peoples bench no ? I suppose great if you like that sort of thing ,and looking at the Kate if it's anything like that it will be impressive in detail . I suspect this may become another $600 buck stash queen like all those Lancs you don't see built . Thank heavens it wasn't in "true scale" that would make it 39 inches , you can see now why they whine about this scalism on some other forums , that extra 6 inches......... makes all the difference I'm sure . π -

That one shot from an SLR clearly took out the tank , i mean look at it ? Its totally fooked man . proper mans gun for proper Toms, not some nancy 5.56 β¦. -
That is such a classic piece of engineering design , simple , elegant and timeless , Enterprise has never aged, still looks as good today as it did 60 years ago, still credible . Jeffries and Roddenberry got it bang on the nail with her .

That the joy of oils , you've got 12 -24 hours to correct and go back . I find after the first application it always looks a bit mickey mouse, so you go back and tone it down once or twice and then done. If you hate it , turps and a rag removes it all & start again . Also I has foam sea now ... -

The book Das Boot points out 39,000 u-boat men went to sea ...32,000 didn't come back . Thats worse odds than the RAF's Bomber Command . I need to come up with a variation on this work , I like the overall presentation but too close a straight copy seems ....naff. Also large sheet of foam on the way ... -

He he , contentious GB titles ..π..I knew someone would bite. Personally I like the P-38 too , but you know , I'm English huh ! In 1986 I lived for a summer in Grimsby and so was treated to a daily show from Binbrook where the last of the Lightnings at the LTF were using up the airframe hours before they all got the blue cross of death. Magnificent aircraft , fastest aircraft the RAF has ever had , flawed but fantastic in equal amounts. I cried when Thunder City closed as I had always promised myself a flight there ...just once ...would have done . Anything that could burn through an entire tank of fuel in just 10 minutes ...shame the Trumpeter one was just too bad to contemplate. I know there are fixes but ... More Lighting Pixs here- I've been following Damien's website 20+ years .

Just in case your curious , this is what I use for the oil work . Dedicated brushes , liquin to aid drying , and odourless spirit . Not shown- small travel hairdryer to speed up drying . Once it's down and dry I typically matt varnish over the top to stop smearing .
