She continues to amaze Me P-40 underwater Dio
GusMac replied to KevinM's topic in Modelling Discussion
Thanks Kevin. Had a look and lost a couple of hours! Some amazing stuff. -
By most projections we're well overdue a solar superstorm and if/when it comes we could well found out just how this'll play out. 😮

Thanks guys. Felt better today so have been doing some more assembly and almost ready for primer. Will post some photos tomorrow.

Amazing work! We need a jaw-drop reaction! -
Will do Ernie, only hope l'll be able to do it justice.
-
Yep, that's our two Jack Russells' mindset!

Thanks all. My wife's had it worse than me with fevers, headaches, etc but l feel like l've just had a bit of a dry cough and a bit rundown. Good excuse to sit and watch all the rugby though! Sorry about the final score Phil but that was one of the best games l've watched in a long time. Two well matched teams giving it everything right to the end and good to see the respect between the players at the end.

Helm looks really good Phil aand the overall scale is nicely imposing. -
He does a great radio show on BBC Radio 6 Music which is always worth a listen. Seen him live a couple of times and he's always great value.

Sorry to heear that Ernie. Sounds like a life well lived.

Progress may slow a little as my wife and l have finally succumbed to covid. Given we've both worked right the way through in frontline healthcare it was gonna catch us sooner or later. Might do some gluing but no airbrushing for the moment.

Thanks, l see now why everyone raves about these new Tamiya kits. The thought that has gone into the engineering is wonderful. Who knew what you could achieve by letting people who actually build kits design them! 😁

Some more progress here. Front wheel well painted up and assembled then forward fuselage closed up. Everything just fits so nicely.

I told my wife either the A or the D, so it wasn't until Christmas morning I knew which I was getting. Made a bit more progress and the quality of the moulding is so impressive. You'll enjoy it Carl.

Option A does have the fun of hearing Mahomes interviewed, he sounds more like Kermit the Frog every time I hear him. 😀

Well, I'm going to jump in to the wet stuff as well! This is a bit 'vanilla' compared to a lot of the unusual builds here but we've got an F4 already, so why not another carrier bird from the 70s and 80s. Got the cockpit done so far and I can see why people rave about these newer Tamiya kits. The engineering just makes painting so much easier and everything just fits perfectly so far. Took the photos before I put the side panels on just so things are a bit more visible.

Looks great and the panel lines seem to match up pretty well too. -
Maiden are still as tight as ever even 40 years into it. I first saw them in '84 on the World Slavery tour then took my son to see them on the last 2 tours for Book of Souls and Legacy of the Beast and they have got better live and the stage productions are amazing. Try a band from Mexico made up of 3 sisters called the Warning, the youngest is only 19 but they are very good.

Looks stunning but also extremely delicate with the open door and hatches. You must have steady hands!

Looks great Mark. Just love the innovation of the Lego designers. I can remember getting some of the first Technic kits back in the early 80s and what they are coming out with now is just amazing. -

Looks great Tom. After all your comments and Cees' on his build I'm surprised no-one else has come out with a better kit by now. It was such a workhorse you'd think someone might give it some love. -
Welcome Maru, great to see you here. I'll echo Carl as I can't believe you got banned. I don't visit LSP often but I don't think I've ever seen you post anything contentious. I especially liked your thread over there on the music. Gus

As a 'proper' post to this thread, does a Tamiya F14A qualify for the group build as a carrier based aircraft? Got one for Christmas from the wife and I'm keen to get it started.
