  1. Some great looking builds. I particularly like Obelix with his menhir and whoever did the 'Battle of the Bathtub' has a suitably warped sense of humour.
  2. After the PhotoBucket sh**show I treat all image hosting sites with a large degree of scepticism which is why the direct upload here is so good.
  3. Anyone else getting a 'Content not viewable in your region' message instead of the images here??
  4. I remember my grandmother having a treadle operated Singer like that. It was about 70 years old but still worked perfectly.
  5. Ah, the dreaded small dog attack! One of our Jack Russell's once chewed through 2 AIM-7 Sparrow missiles for one of my builds.
  6. Thanks all, it feels good to have finished it and I'm fairly happy with the result. Ships are definitely not in the plan Guy, for some reason they're just not appealing to me. I built a couple as a kid but they were so small and basic that I was underwhelmed and have never got back in to them. My plan is to do a 1/48 F4 next but I haven't decided between the ZM F4D or the big T F4. Probably the D as the SEA camo is more fun than another grey jet in the cabinet.
  7. Thanks Hubert. I'm not a huge fan of the folded wings either but it wouldn't have fitted in the space left in the cabinet without it, although I didn't know that when I started. It was mainly as Ernie had kindly included the full detail set with the folded wings and it seemed a shame not to use everything.
  8. I'm calling this one done. Sorry for the lack of updates but I kind of lost motivation for the build. Not through any fault of the kit, which is very good for a short run type moulding, but more just because of stuff going on in life. I felt I had to finish it though before I could move on to something else, so here we are... It's a sizeable beast, so the display cabinet needed a bit of a jiggle about to find room for it. Wingspan is slightly bigger than an F16! Overall a nice build but some of the detail is a little soft in places, so I left the weathering light.
  9. Sorry for your loss. Glad modelling and writing have been a comfort. I've just found your book on Amazon, so that's another sale for you. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the HK kit.
  10. Looks great. Something different for the display case.
  11. Peter has certainly indicated that it's his intention over on LSP. However, I think it depends on him having success with the 3D modelling
  12. How is the Tamiya kit Carl? I built the Bronco one a few years back and it was a nice kit although some fiddly part choices.
  13. Looks great.
  14. Innovative stuff, looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
  15. Built a few of those as a kid. Always remember the multi-coloured sprues which meant some of my earliest efforts didn't even get painted.
  16. Didn't know the Aussies used these!
  17. I like the two tone scheme, provides nice visual interest and seems quite plausible
  18. Wow, that looks brilliant Jeroen. If I didn't know, I don't think I'd be able to tell that wasn't 100% original.
  19. I agree with Hubert that your weathering looks great, on this and the Abrams. Your wire brush technique gives a very realistic look, so I think, as Hubert says, it's maybe just some 'different' subjects that you need.
  20. Nice detail on the panel given the scale.
  21. Absolutely brilliant Martin. The wood effect looks far better than any decal could.
  22. Back from our summer holiday, so got some time at the bench to try out the Dspiae circle cutter on the hinomarus. Clever clogs having decided to go with the folded wings had made this a bit more complicated but we got there with a bit of fiddling. Next is a gloss coat and then onto some weathering and the decals.
  23. Have a great day Carl.
