It was a joke from a tv show from the ‘50’s called the ‘Honey Mooners’ starring Jackie Gleeson, Art Carney, Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randolph. 
Gleeson played Ralph Kramden and his wife played by Meadows was Alice. And Ralph wud get mad and always say ‘ to the moon Alice to the moon’ ….

Seriously you guys ??? Geez I’m not that old. I thought EVERYONE knew the Honey Mooners’ .. its actually back on late night.  I will try to keep my posts to something more contemporary. Sorry guys.

As a kid it was funny and as an adult it is hilarious. Because now we can  relate to some of the work issues and Art Carney was a fabulous actor. It was clean wholesome comedy with no overtones of any sort. Refreshing in today’s world.

Before I retired that was my line I used as I was leaving work.  Especially since the new home was an hour drive.
