JohnB
This one has been on the shelf looking back at me for a while so I've decided to go on and build it. This is the "Dottie Mae" kit with all the Eduard after market included in the box. I really wanted to do "Tallahassee Lassie" but haven't been able to find any decals for the nose art so I have settled on a similar one that is included in the kit "Pilots Dream IV". I intend to build it OOB using the Eduard stuff that comes in the kit. Should make a nice looking Jug. 10

Peterpools
John Nice call for your next build and so glad it's a Jug. I do like the scheme, markings and it being a NMF. As always will be front centered front row for the build. One nice looking front office. BTW, are the kit decals the newer type Eduard now uses with the peel away clear film? I tested them when they first came out and removing the clear film didn't seem to be an issue. Since then, I've seen lots of videos on the subject and the system does seem to be well accepted. Any thoughts on how you are going to handle the decals?

As far as I can tell the decals are the "old" style.
JohnB
I added some strip plastic to the cowl interior for a bit more detail.

Thank you Peter. This is such a EASY kit to build it just doesn't demand a lot of time to "adjust" something, etc. Nearly a shake and bake! Peterpools
John Sounds good but for me, always needing a diet, I can't handle 'shake and bake' as it has too many calories🙃

JohnB
Today I decided to apply the invasion stripes under the wings before attaching them to the fuselage. Easier to handle, etc. I'll apply the under fuselage one's later today. (I don't usually use acrylics but those Mr. Color paints I used for the stripes sure did behave well. I think I will begin to use them more in future. I was a bit disappointed in the MM acrylics.) 8

Peterpools
John Invasion stripes look so good and acrylic paints no less. I'm betting the wing/fuselage seam is perfect, which allows you to paint the wings off the fuselage. I tried it just once and for me, it wasn't a good decision. Earlier this year I started investing in Mig and Model Air paints again, as I decided to start breaking away from solvent based paints for health reasons. Very early this morning I was cleaning up some Mr Surfacer on the P-40 with Mr Color Self Leveling Thinner as always and the smell for the first time got to me. Not a smart move on my part, I quickly put on my respirator and opened the windows (it was 5:30 AM) and aired out the room for a good hour. Even though I'm heavily invested in MRP and Mr Color Lacquers, I'm for the most part going to stop using them and go back to my original plan of 100% acrylics and Ammo by Mig being my main pain as it is supposed to be 100% safe to use. I'm sure all the other acrylic/water based paints are close in safety.
