Jeroenveen1 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 The Wingnut Wings Fokker DVII is done. These were 8 great modeling weeks. The WnW kit is a jewel, the painting and weathering the lozenge was very rewarding and I truly believe that Doug Craner prop is the icing on the cake. It's a shame this build is over but luckily there's some more WnW in the stash! There is no link on this side to Work in Progress but please feel free to look at my Facebook account. All comments welcome as usual of course! Happy modeling, Jeroen 4
wemattson Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Jeroen, It is a real honor to see your work on this forum. Your Fokker is absolutely stunning! Cheers, Wayne
Jeroenveen1 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Humbling guys, thanks for the very kind words, highly appreciated! Cheers, Jeroen
Administrators James H Posted March 3, 2013 Administrators Posted March 3, 2013 Now that is what I call a result. The bad thing about losing the old site were the comments you made on how you did various things on this build, so expect to be expertly probed in the future AWESOME!
Jamme Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Fantastic! You WNW WW1 builders are incredible. Cheers, Jamme
Grant Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Well I'm not a prober (!) but I'm staggered by your Fokker ! Beautiful.
jose pedro Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Hello! That is a fantastic paintjob! The fadind on the model is exquisit! José Pedro
dr_gn Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Beautiful build - great paint and weathering too. That prop looks the business.
Jeroenveen1 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Thanks Martin! The pictures are gentle and hide many of the flaws ;-). Thank you for the warm welcome here on the forum. A great place with kind fellow modellers, and it's a privilege to be part of this group. I'm going to take a small brake for the next week or so, and then I might start another project. The Tate will probably be the one for the group build/competition starting in July, so its either the Hisso or the Albatros. That Hisso is so tempting...
Jeroenveen1 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Thanks guys! And Martin, how is the blog coming along?
Administrators James H Posted March 3, 2013 Administrators Posted March 3, 2013 Hisso or Albatros Jeroen, and I'll be happy. Got both of those here so I'll be watching very closely. Expect lots of questions.
Jeroenveen1 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Probably the Hisso James - although I have Ushi's wood decals which I want to try…. decide I must, decide I must… Fab job on the site by the way! It feels like home already!
Dave J Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Fantastic Jeroen! Love the weathering of the Lozenge! Looking forward to the next one!
NOVAModeler Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I have this kit too, and now I have something to strive for. Really beautifully done!
PAnderson Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Awesome job Jeroen, really. So much talent here. I'm glad I found this place. Will certainly watch your next build. Paul
Administrators James H Posted March 4, 2013 Administrators Posted March 4, 2013 Hey Jeroen....you've really done it this time. Guess what my next WW1 build is? ...................................................... ................................................. .......................................... .................................. ........................... 2
Jeroenveen1 Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 James! Wow! Yeah! Now there's something I like very very much! That is a good pick. And I'm very sure you will turn her into a beauty! I'm going to watch and follow your progress, be sure of that! Very cool! Cheers! Grant, thanks so much for the kind words! I had a great time building this. I have to make a write-up for Tamiya Magazine and when that is done I will start on my next WnW kit. Not sure which one yet, but there's enough time to decide!
