Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 8 Author Administrators Posted February 8 Adding more wires with lead 0,3mm lead wire. Not much to go by in terms of reference, but just enough and some common sense. 9
BlrwestSiR Posted February 8 Posted February 8 The finish on the exhausts looks amazing. Like they're actually metal. 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 9 Author Administrators Posted February 9 Sooo… printed the Norton and what i expected happened. The proper diameter of the spokes are too thin to print in 32nd scale. But… only a little. I’ll make the 1.3 times thicker and see what happens. The engine and all the other oarts are really there. You can’t keep see the translucency of the chain cover and even the engine parts through the thin walls. Also printed more small parts for the Peregrine engines. 9
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 10 Author Administrators Posted February 10 Altered the 3d file A LOT. The fenders are so thin they are translucent. Spokes are a bit thicker and came out good this time. We’ll see after a cure. Also started painting the wheels for the Whirlwind. 6
GusMac Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Can't believe how thin those fenders are. Do you use a razor saw for the print supports or just snip them? I'd be terrified whatever method I chose. 2

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 12 Author Administrators Posted February 12 Geeez! Even the tiny valve is there. A bit of small cleanup to do. Printing a few bikes more now. I’ll pose two under the Whirlwind. Double engine, so to speak. 7 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 13 Author Administrators Posted February 13 Hope the Norton 16H doesn’t bore you, but i need to get it printed properly and ready for paint before i continue the Whirlwind. The text on the base will see: it wasn’t the engines… The ones that know what killed the Whirlwind will understand. 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 14 Author Administrators Posted February 14 And here's the Brough Superior SS100. It will take a few hours of more work to get this prepped for 3d printing. 7
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 15 Author Administrators Posted February 15 Cutting the parts free from the supports is nerve wrecking. Lot more small connection points to be cleaned up. The rear wheel actually turns. And the kickstand works too. 8
Martinnfb Posted February 15 Posted February 15 The supports release had to be nerve-racking , but the result is well worth it. Ultra fine detail. 2
GusMac Posted February 15 Posted February 15 That's ridiculous that the wheels actually turn. Is that something you deliberately modelled in the files or just a happy accident? 2 1

GusMac Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Thanks Jeroen. Kind of makes me glad I've never got into 3D printing as I have enough obsessions rattling around in my head without adding something like this! 😁 2 2
BlrwestSiR Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Stunningly brilliant. Here I am thinking I'm doing great getting my gunsight on straight and then I check in here. 1 2
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Monday at 08:10 PM Author Administrators Posted Monday at 08:10 PM The gun camera was situated under the center fuselage, next to the empty shell container. It had a side opening hatch, showing the G42B gun camera. I couldn't resist drawing it up in order to print it. First steps. 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Wednesday at 03:23 PM Author Administrators Posted Wednesday at 03:23 PM Still roughing it out... But getting there. 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted Wednesday at 08:27 PM Author Administrators Posted Wednesday at 08:27 PM I'm pretty shitty at 3D drawing, but I do what I can with what I've got. Anyway. This part is 1,3cm long, so most of this detail will be lost. 3
