Administrators James H Posted September 22, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 22, 2014 These belts just look so good. You can scrunch them a little too and open them out again. They look more natural then.

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 3, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted October 3, 2014 And here's what I have as reference. Special Thnx to Jim for the Airframe constructor book. Even though it features a ZM build, this edition is a GREAT color reference...
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 3, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted October 3, 2014 The carpet monster getting the observer seat was reason to get even more aftermarket. The CMK seats. Contrary to their Ju88 releases, these seat offer some additional welcome detail.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 3, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted October 3, 2014 Started work on the pit. Cut and shaved the moulded on seat belts. Fashioned cushion from Milliput for observer. Sprayed RLM66 on in the Tub. The PE blast shield is in place. HGW seat belts are ready.

RalphSarc
You know every time I see you and Jim build I’m reminded of how far I’ve come since joining LSM however I’m also reminded that my modeling journey has just barely begun. I will follow your He-219 and Jim’s Ju88 builds with great interest. Ralph.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 6, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted October 6, 2014 Looking really good Jeroen, whats your method for painting the leather bits, I like the look a lot. Cheers Bevan Hi Bevan, Thnx. I first use medium brown Mr. Hobby paint. Then i use oil paint (burnt sienna) undiluted and smear it on. Then I wipe the excess off with a soft cloth and Q-tip

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 11, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted October 11, 2014 Managed to close the fuse today. Added some extra fishing line weights in the nose just to make sure. Also removed the Revell Revi Gunsight. Looked to small and chunky so dug up a Quickboost one from the spares box.

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 11, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted October 11, 2014 How much weight did you put in the nose? Hi Ralph, Well, the radio is made of heavy metal . MK1 supplies an additional weight but it was too big to fit. So instead of cutting it to size I added about the same weight in fishing lead. I didn't bother to weigh it since there's only one way of telling whether it's sufficient and that's building the whole thing We'll see!

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 19, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted October 19, 2014 Here you see the He219 in the Bos Model Stand that I'm reviewing at the moment. Truly an amazing tool. All you need is a screwdriver to assemble a jig that fits your build. Biplane, twin engine or fighter. The wings arent glued at this point, but the jig holds everything together.

crazypoet
I'd never heard of this aircraft until I saw it here, and I've completely fallen for it. I'm happily watching this build, and I'm thinking of adding one to the stash at some point - it's an extraordinary aircraft. Thanks for sharing this with us! Wingco57
Not only buying it, building it! The stash is only loftinsulation. Cheers Cees
