JaseGill
My ultimate Navy aircraft of WWII may surprise some. The OS2U Kingfisher.Don't know why but I love it. Just looks great to me. So, how excited am I that Kitty Hawk just announced that the 1/48 is a mistake, it's going to be 1/32.I don't care what's on the bench, when this comes I'm all over it.What's everyone else think?
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 11, 2015 I can appreciate another 1/32 release but not a fan of this plane. Come to think of it i hardly build american stuff. Still cool though. I think it's one of those releases many have asked for but once it gets here you don't see built that much. Like the P61. Dave J
Hmmm.. I can't get excited either.. But great to see another 32nd release... P-61... Don't remind me of that! I need to start that!
crazypoet
I truly understand that "resonance" one can feel with some aircraft. My wife keeps telling me that it has something to do with reincarnation; I think it's more to do with what first grabbed my attention as a kid... Regardless - follow your bliss, so to speak! I look forward to watching your build, when it happens. I am working my way though my short list of planes that call to me (for whatever reason!). I want to do each of them in 1/32 before I'll move on to other types.
GusMac
Echo the sentiments that it's great to see another 32nd scale release but personally I'm waiting with anticipation for the Mirage IIIC release coming from Italeri. I know the IIIE is what most folk want to see but l just want to do a 6 Day War lDF one.
Paulster
Glad to see the scale grow. Sure wouldn't have picked that but I bet a lot of other builders are happy. Looked forward to seeing completed builds.
JaseGill
Ive just always loved the fact that it looks kinda gangly.Same reason I bought and built the Revell Arado 196 and will do the single float one too J.

Cant wait for it! The OS2U is SUPER DUPER ugly with the wheels on it, but the ungainly looking single float and out-rigger floats is really cool IMHO. REALLY looking forward to this one!!! Julien
Not really a massive fan of 1.32 stuff (heratic!) but its creeping into my stash and this is one I am looking forward to. JUlien
Beychevelle
I like the Kingfisher...add a nice HpH catapult for it and I'll build one for sure
towerpower
I think the Kingfisher is a cool aircraft, built one vacform and turned out pretty satisfactory, but KH has already made some cancellations on kits they were going to release in 1/32nd scale, like the F11F Tiger, which apparently had a "bad selling rep" ............go figure, even BEFORE it was to be released....i'm a little disappointed, and that's an understatement. MikeMaben
Trumpeter had a Kingfisher on their 'Future release' list for years. Looking forward to KH's T-28 series. Wonder if 'series' means they'll be doing an A.
JonathanReed
Yes! Very Ugly! But I'm with you on planes meaning something because of childhood memories. I believe I saw it on one of the battleships when i was a tot and the awe of it all! I I will be grabbing one of these myself. <Rubbing arm like a heroine junkie, only for plastic!>
ophthoidoug
Actually pretty excited about this one too I saw a stunning one in 1/48 recently - perched on a scratch-built catapult & masterfully weathered in multiple "sun-faded" shades of blue I second the HpH catapult comment/wish. I built their Arado catapult & love the result! They take commissions based on numbers so if enough folks were willing to pre-order one, they might consider it ...?
