Administrators JeroenPeters Posted July 9, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted July 9, 2013 Ez Line rigging? I think we can safely assume the EZ has no connotation to the word Easy.
Dave J
I think we can safely assume the EZ has no connotation to the word Easy. My favorite is the "will it hold? will it hold" and then SNAP! and the frantic, expletive-fueled rush to keep the line from gluing itself to itself or to the plane somewhere. Are you guys using CA Accelerator too?

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted July 10, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted July 10, 2013 I use CA accelerator in a touch-n-flow. But often get lazy. My name is Jeroen Peters and I'm a user of CA accelerator. One thing I've noticed though is that the bond is stronger without the accelerator. The accelerator makes it britle.
Jeroenveen1
Euro 550 and a bit for the Catalina doesn't suit my wallet but boy, would I like to build one…. great job Jeroen, enjoying every bit of this! Cheers, Jeroen

The accelerator makes it britle. Strange I have never had that issue. It took me a while to decide due to the price, plus it didn't help having Mr Hatch egging you on to buy it!

Grant
Are you using EZ Line? I've just brought in a load of (much cheaper alternative) 0.50mm stretch thread in black as well as in white which is just as good - the Prym brand with will retail at £2.50 for a 200 mtrs reel. In fact it's the same stuff that arrived when I ordered some WnW's "branded thread" and was surprised at to what I received for my money! Both take paint well as, of course, CA for those who can't leave it alone.

Administrators James H Posted July 21, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 21, 2013 Shit, that looks awesome! Your rather un-manly colour of background actually shows the colours real well. I love that PC10 finish....doesn't even look dusty like my DH.

Grant
Brilliant Jeroen and you're absolutely right! The HGW PE makes a huge amount of difference. The sharpness of detail that PE brings is completely unmatched by anything from plastic, as a returnee to the hobby ... I think that photo-etch is THE greatest innovation for the last 20 or so years. I love what you've done with this mate ... I've got one in stock in case anyone wants to have a go too

Dennis.E
A beautiful project Jeroen - You must have the patience of a saint, I have never tried a WW1 project primarily due to all that nightmarish rigging, to which I can only admire in your project. Well done!
