Hey Ernie, I agree 10000% that is one of the prettiest Lancs ever to get paint...... who are you going to do the decals from?? I may have an idea or two.... NOW I can't wait for you to get this kit, and start a wip, so I can salivate over your build..... I LOVE our post war birds, they were the most colorful of all, and I am kind of done with this sterile grey stuff now these days............. is it here yet?? Is it here yet?? Is it here yet???

Yeah, they are different.

Such an elegant aeroplane. British construction school was so by-polar. Creating beautiful airframes such as Lanc. , Spitfire or Triplane as well as disasters  such as Blackburn II, Hayford or Gannet.

I used to go by FM104 almost daily when it was mounted  on a column near the Toronto  lakefront. The nose crew hatch was open and there was a rope ladder you could climb to go inside. After they found that people were sleeping in the fuselage, they took the ladder down.

It'll be nice to see it in one piece again.

I didn’t know you guys in Canada land had 8 Lancs...........out of 17 around the world.......

Yes, they’re almost common in Canada. One of the world’s two flying examples, plus another that with a bit of work, could fly, and six more static.

There were enough still in service in the 50s and enough men who had served on them in the war, that when they were retired, they were preserved.

plus, when they were retired, Avro was kind of in the front of everyone’s mi d with the Arrow cancellation and all.

The one in Nanton is taxiable, but just no room yet, they are going to expand the museum tarmac, so she can stroll around...... all the systems work in her, so once the pavement is down she will be moving........ yeah , Carl, I heard the movement of FM104 was a bit contentious in your neck of the woods eh?......it's hard to give something up that has been with you for a very long time, but it will be a good thing in the end... and the valiant effort put in by the guys trying to get her restored down your way won't go amiss or be forgotten, and with what they do here, the whole country, vets, and all who were lost , and those interested, will see a flying tribute......... they do good work out west here........I'm just glad it didn't get tossed in a hangar somewhere while everyone fought about it....... she will fly again..... that is the COOLEST part....

I had Sluggo make me masks a few times in the last. He does great work but has dropped off the face of the earth.

I think I’ll ask Maketar this time, but the Red Ensign, well, that’ll need to be sourced or commissioned.
