harv Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Hi all. Thinking about adding radar array for my mystery ship. What do I need ? Thinking of AM metal but need the arms attached to nose. Thanks......Harv

harv Posted February 24, 2019 Author Posted February 24, 2019 Is there as et that has the "arms", the pieces that attach to the aircraft........harv
Martinnfb Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Master has another, arms comes with the kit or you can fab your own. 1
harv Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 I looked them up. Don't come with the plastic parts.....harv

harv Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 Yes Martin, thats what I was thinking of. Now need to find who has it. Thank you........Harv 1
harv Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 Can't find anyone that carries it. Just Ebay and that's $50....
Martinnfb Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 grab it , the set is long OOP https://eshop.owl-czech.eu/kategorie/1:32-2/
Bill_S Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Harv, do you really want resin parts that fragile? The Revell He-219 A-0/A-2 comes with two different antenna configurations (either step 70 or step 71 in the instructions): I would think the ones that come out straight might be better on the Horten (too close to the intakes otherwise?). If you want them, you know what to do. 1

BlrwestSiR Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Let me check my BF110 kit. I've got the AIMs G-4 conversion for it but as my donor kit is the night fighter version if I don't need the kit bits, I can send those to you. Carl
harv Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 Carl buddy, that would be an awesome life savor ! Its that or forget the radar !......harv
Martinnfb Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Owl fixes the incorrect arms with its own resin replacement. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Owl-Decals-1-32-HEINKEL-He-219A-0-FULL-RADAR-SET/191124982033?hash=item2c7fefc911:g:oSsAAOxyUylTPaZf:rk:1:pf:0
BlrwestSiR Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Ok, I checked the BF110D nachtjäger kit. I don't need the radar antennae for the G-4 so you can have those if you want. Only thing is the arms are really square. I think they might look out of place on the Ho229. The other thing I dug up is the radar from the Revell FW190 A-8/R11kit. The arms are at least round. There's two of these sprues and I'm planning to build it as a day fighter so won't need them either. They're supposed to be mounted on the wings but should be adaptable for mounting to the nose of the Ho229. Let me know if either set works for you. Carl 2
harv Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 I think your right Carl. Might be more trouble than what there worth. Martin, I must have read directions wrong. It does seem they are included.I think I'll just bite the bullet an order it off Ebay......Harv
Martinnfb Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 I would go with Master and scratch my own arms. Resin antennas are ultra delicate and prone to brake. 2
Bill_S Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Harv, how about the arms from the Me-262 ? Â 3
Wumm Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 I would take Carl up on the Fw190 Yagi antlers... And put them out on the wings. Realistically (and I say this tongue-in-cheek, because after all it's a what-if anyway), there would be precious little room in the nose of the Horton for the electronics is it stands. Or, for a cleaner look, a FuG 217 Neptune array... S 3
harv Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 Hmmm, it could work on the wings. There is very little room on the 229 nose. One question, would these be used for ground targets ?. This place and people are awesome!!!....harv 1
DocRob Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Hi Harv. ever thought about Albion slide fit tubes and soldering / glueing. A brass construction is very sturdy and might solve your problem. There was a great built of a Ju-388 by Wouter here and he had a similar problem. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/4145-ju-388-l-1/?page=3 Cheers Rob 2
