Bomber_County
Group build #2 off and running. The Tiger 1 is basically complete bar a few tools to add. Then it’s lined up for the spray booth. With summer here “at last” in the UK I do enjoy modelling “al fresco” no that’s not rude.........So with this in mind I turned to the Tristar 1/35 Sturmpanzer IV Early Verizon - Mid Production.... As some of you may remember I posted this pic back in end of April in response to Martins “what’s on your bench” In doing some research today, it transpires that Sturmpanzer’s did participate in Normandy around about August.......... So only having done the wheels back back in April, I’d like to enter this as my second contribution to the GB.........typically Tristar there are a mountain of sprues and part count around 500.......including individual tracks. I await the judges decision........
GusMac
Oh, I do love a mobile pillbox. These things are the ultimate triumph of function over appearance. Not sure where the details above came from Phil but they must have taken a helluva detour to make it 110 miles from Conde-sur-Noireau to the front. We've holidayed around there a few times and it's at most 60 miles to the beaches. The Suisse Normande is a lovely area.

Bomber_County
Ok so now the vacation is finished and the nights are drawing in, its time to get back to the bench. The odds and sods of the Tiger are time consuming so I dipped into the Sturmpanzer to get some building done. The kit is surprisingly good for Tristar even though the instructions are rubbish. Anyhow here is the start of the build...... Seven parts times eight assemblies , that was time consuming....... Lower hull attachments and rear deck........the road wheels are two wheels per suspension arm and Tristar supply rubber tyres......... Next task....... more soon, back to the Tiger..........
Jeff
The 'next task', will definitely keep you out of the pub, Phil...........................................................
Wumm
Agreed... cleaning up those track parts, even without the assembly process, is going to be time consuming in itself. Patrick Agte in his Stackpole Publishing book on Wittmann gives an account of an UshFührer Warnrcke, who detoured his entire Company to a Paris Restaurant owned by a good friend on the night of June 8th for a lavish meal on the house. Urgency seems not to have been a priority for the Germans on the Invasion Front.

Patrick Agte in his Stackpole Publishing book on Wittmann Thanks, I’ll see if I can track down a copy. The Tristar tracks don’t need a lot of clean up ironically..........

Bomber_County
With the Tiger still in the paint shop, a bit more progress on the Sturmpanzer. Not sure how such of the interior is going to be seen but intend to leave all the hatches open.......
