JohnB Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 This is another kit I started a while back but put back on the shelf awaiting "inspiration" LOL. So now I am ready to resume the build. It will be mostly OOB except for some Eduard PE cockpit details and FineMolds seat belts. I'm crossing my fingers that I don't lose interest again. Onward and upward as they say! 6
Ryan Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Hey John, one thing I have discovered is that the very top deck will not reach the bulkhead ahead of it. Its an easy fix with strip. Mossie by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr 5
JohnB Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 Funny coincidence isn't it! Thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind. Which a/c are you doing? I have decided on the black underside w/bulged bomb bay PC*3. 3
Ryan Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Me too, I find that one the most interesting....esp with that water heater bomb! The worst on the sheet is the Russian one. 4
Ryan Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I also would not try and pull flaps up etc, I ruined my wing try to make it that way. 5

JohnB Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 This will be my second HK Mossie. I built the other kit with the under nacelle air scoops a couple of years ago. 3 1
Ryan Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Those flaps look great, I had an awful time with it! But nothing $140 and free shipping couldn't fix.....sigh. 4

BlrwestSiR Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Looking forward to your second build of this kit. I hear you on the burn out bit. I had that happen to me as well but on the Tamiya one. Shouldn't have tried building two of them at once. Carl 5
JohnB Posted October 18, 2019 Author Posted October 18, 2019 I have a Tamiya Mk VI ordered and intend to build it when done with this kit. Probably as a night intruder or a night fighter. I'll have to look around for any available night fighter conversions sets. 6
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted October 18, 2019 Administrators Posted October 18, 2019 John, you jumping back in might persuade me to as well. I was in he middle of a BOAC Mossie, and contracted the dreaded PE burnout, so to the SOD it went as well. 6 1
Bomber_County Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Oh good, I have the Tamiya Mossie sitting here ready to go, perhaps I may borrow some courage to get started.........be great to see a new batch of Mossies ......... 7

Anthony in NZ Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 This will be great, might be just what I need to crack on with my Tamiya Trainer conversion or my 24th Airfix one as well.... 4
